I am going on a tour with a tour company to Thialand and wonder if I need any special immunizations. I am 73 and live in Mo.

I would definitely get a Yellow Fever Vaccine and a Typhoid Fever Vaccine or booster if already vaccinated. Ask your HMO or physician to refer you to a travel medicine clinic and they will fix you right up.

Here is a list from a travel medicine web page:
Hepatitis A - Recommended for all travelers

Typhoid - For travelers who may eat or drink outside major restaurants and hotels

Yellow fever - Required for all travelers greater than one year of age arriving from a yellow-fever-infected area in Africa or the Americas. Not recommended otherwise.

Japanese encephalitis - For long-term (>1 month) travelers to rural areas or travelers who may engage in extensive unprotected outdoor activities in rural areas, especially after dusk

Hepatitis B - For travelers who may have intimate contact with local residents, especially if visiting for more than 6 months

Rabies - For travelers who may have direct contact with animals and may not have access to medical care

Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) - Two doses recommended for all travelers born after 1956, if not previously given

Tetanus-diphtheria - Re-vaccination recommended every 10 years

I've been to Thailand. You really must see the water market and travel on some of the rivers. They are very polluted so you really need the Typhoid vaccine and a booster for your Tetanus-diphtheria vaccine

You probably don't need to worry at all.

There are some malarial areas, mostly in remote areas
near the border with Myanmar. I suspect you won't go there.

Probably your tour will be Bangkok and Chaing Mai, both
big cities with no problems. Just go and enjoy your trip.
