would you have eaten it? It looked fine but t was black and not white.

Its what rice looks like before they bleach it, lived in Japan for 10 yrs; it was realy wierd to get use to buying and using but its the same rice and more nutrious.No preserviatives.

It could be you were given squid rice the ink is used to dye the rice black. Growing up in Puerto Rico, I have eaten a lot of strange and exotic foods, squid rice was one of them. It is a nice change from white rice though.

that would be what they call black sweet rice. the rice itself is not sweet but just a little sticky. they usually use those as deserts. it taste just the same as any other rice.

it's a different variety of rice. also more expensive, and tastier.
