I am a U.S. Army Soldier, who is currently on the awol, because I did not want to be deployed to Iraq. I am looking for a list of neutral countries in which would accept an awol army soldier, without naturalisation papers, and not deport me.

Thank you.

Doesn't matter if they're neutral or not, if they have an extradition treaty with the U.S. they have to follow that.

However, the European Union is quite strict in who they extradite, and for the U.S. a couple of clauses are relevant:

(b) the fact that authorisation must never be given for the extradition from the Member States of the European Union to the United States of persons who would be brought before a military tribunal,

(c) the fact that extradition must not be possible if the accused might face the death penalty,

Switzerland, Austria, Costa Rica, The Republic of Ireland, Lichtenstein, Finland and Sweden are all officially neutral countries. Turkmenistan is also neutral - but the place is a dictatorship, I really wouldn't suggest going there.

Without naturalisation papers you would be unlikely to get in, and if you're AWOL the government has probably cancelled your passport. You'd also probably get deported for not having a visa - essentially you'd be an illegal immigrant.

Perhaps your best bet would be to go to a country where they just don't care about immigrants, at least not to the extent a few bribes won't get you overlooked - pretty much any country in South America should do you.

Don't dare call yourself a soldier if you ran like a french from a DEPLOYMENT. Why did you join the army to begin with then? Traitor. I believe there is a church in Chicago that harbors lawbreakers. Try there.
How about Iran or Syria? I'm sure they'd love to have a yellow Tuition-Soldier.

Why wouldn't he want to live under a dictatorship Mordent? According to him, it's okay for the Iraqis to live under brutal dictatorship, don't tell me that he himself wouldn't want to live under a government type that is oppressive!

Go to Costa Rica and you just apply for your refugee status in that case they will never be able to bring you back to U.S
Because of an international agreement of refugees which this particular country has signed.
You just have to tell your story to the inmigration officials, that you are prosecuted for political reasons.

I know Switzerland is a neutral country, why don't you try asking Google.

Finland will gladly harbor you, though we aren't as neutral as you'd think.
You will have to get into to the embassy though, and apply for a sanctuary.
