My exboyfriend and I have been broken up for 3 months. Yesterday he sent me an email saying and I quote "Hi,I contemplated so many times, if I should write this e-mail or not. I
was just e-mailing you with my wondering thoughts to see if your health was ok and if life was treating you well. No matter what, I hold no grudges. Take Care."
Does he really care? Or is he just trying to make contact again? I love him still and just don't want to read too much into this. What should my next step be?

He misses you. Write him back and tell him everything is fine and you hope that he's doing well also.

If he writes you back he wants you back..

I would say he is just saying hello, maybe he really likes you as a friend and wants to make sure you are ok. Reply answering his questions and ask him how he is. Play it cool otherwise it will go wrong again.

Sounds like hes got feeling left too! Was the breakup for an unresolvable reason? No...then go for it again!

Keep in close contact (email) with him first. Read between words to judge his sincerity -- time can tell this. If he is really sincere enough, then you should accept him again.

Be polite, and verbally fence- maybe suggest meet for coffee? Go that route- remember everyone has 2 agendas- the agenda they say outloud, and the agenda they don't say outloud

I would ignore it and see what happens. If he sends another, he's probably missing you. If he isn't, why even ask about your health and such? He may come crawling back, so be ready. You could even reply with a simple, "Everything is fine, thanks." Man this will drive him nuts!
