MIRACLE IS SUNK

A PRIEST has died after trying to demonstrate how Jesus walked on water. Evangelist preacher Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation he could repeat the biblical miracle. But he drowned after walking out to sea from a beach in the capital Libreville in Gabon, west Africa. One eyewitness said: "He told churchgoers he'd had a revelation that if he had enough faith, he could walk on water like Jesus. "He took his congregation to the beach saying he would walk across the Komo estuary, which takes 20 minutes by boat. "He walked into the water, which soon passed over his head and he never came back."

His faith was not perfect.

He may have been acting out of pride--relying on certainty of his own faith instead of relying on God. But who knows? The one man who knows what he was thinking has drowned.

In this case, it is arguable that this man's belief in the laws of physics outweighed his faith in God.

Peter walked on the water, and yet he began to sink when the seas kicked up. That is, Peter had faith in Christ and was able to defy the laws--which aren't laws but heavily evidenced tendencies--of physics until he began to believe the evidence of the physical world over the evidence of God.

It is possible that faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. Yet the heavily evidenced tendencies of physical reality make strong arguments in the minds of the faithful, which makes many of us unable to move mountains or walk on water.

I believe 100% what Jesus said. I believe that one can walk on water if one has faith. I also believe that we are "ye of little faith."

Christ accounted for everything.

In order to perform a miracle, especially of this proportion, one must be completely selfless; the act must be absolutely for the sake of those one is doing it for. This Minister obviously let his self importance get in the way of purifying his spirit enough to perform the miracle.

It is truly sad to hear of this. But I assure you, do not loose faith. Spirit is the smallest of all mater and therefore it encompasses all things: think of how small the atom is and consider how important they are to the fabric of all things. Spirit Mater is to the sub atomic particle as the size of an atom is in relation to the size of a galaxy.

Everything is therefore material, some things finer in substance than others. Faith, is the finest form of thought and is part of the same family or elemental weight as desire. However some types of desire are denser than others, these are generally desires related to "the flesh." In this way when a person attempts to "perform" a miracle, desires of the flesh such as something as simple as wanting to be looked up to, can cause a miracle to fail.

So you see it is not a question of which is more powerful for the laws of physics are bound by the spirit and only appear to change. The gifts of the spirit require a lot of discipline and purification. I believe this Minister would have been successful if it weren't for a brief moment of selfish pride or doubt.

And no, I am certainly no master, I've simply spent my life studying these things and only have the knowledge of how these things are done with minor results.

There is this saying, God gave us brains so he would rest. Why venture into something just to make a point? Miracles were used in the time of old to increase faith in a faithless people. They had to know that the prophets were sent from God so God gave them signs. Jesus performed miracles to increase faith ...
When he went to his hometown, he could not perform any miracles because there was no faith at all.
Miracles today are to show the finger of God, not to prove a point I guess thats where the peacher got it wrong. And who even said that it was God who sent him and not his ego? I would not because that preacher comitted sucide say that a miracle sank, no, it wasnt so. the man comitted suicide if he wanted to perform a tunt on water and not know how to swim.
Lets not forget that though Jesus walked on earth and was tempted, he was the seed of God, the son of God. Not an actor or a stunts man and not a popularity seeker!

Faith in God is more powerful than physics. You seem like a kind of person that looks at things logically, so let me put it to you this way: God created the laws of physics, gravity, and even everything in the universe, right? So, do you think that he wouldn't be able to change something that he created? Jesus walked on water because he had faith in his Father. But I think that either the preacher you are talking about had too little faith, or else he wasn't a believer in the first place. Also, God warns us to not test him with showings of power. But, if you are in a bad situation, and you truly believe he will get you out of it, he will.

To do any research on this we require someone with faith. By the empirical definition offered in the bible, anyone with even small faith (the size of a mustard seed) should be able to move a mountain by telling it to move. (Mat 17:20) Until someone does that, I have no reason to believe anyone has faith to be compared with the laws of physics.

It's crazy. You just posted this same thing, and everyone (well, a huge majority) said "Faith" without reading the story. And now that they have no choice, they all say "physics". Some people are very flimsy in their beliefs.

I'll go with laws of physics any day. Blind Faith is as bad as being Blind Drunk.

When someone takes excess alcohol it affects their mind and body. Alcohol can drive a person into the evil world of insanity, violence, murder and hatred. We all read about crimes of passion and the killing of innocent life as a result of excess alcohol. This problem is known as being Blind Drunk.

When people are subjected to the brain-washing effects of excess religion it also affects their mind and body. Religion has a history of evil, insanity, murder and hatred. We all read about holy wars and the killing of innocent life as a result of excess religion. This problem is known as Blind Faith.

Notice the commonality of the two – Blind Drunk and Blind Faith, they both affect the commonsense and logic processing of the brain, and can turn otherwise decent people into savage insane murderers full of hatred.

Either way, when you are Blind Drunk or have Blind Faith you are Blind to the Truth, so religious people should say no to religion once and for all, and learn how to be a decent humans being again. Under the influence of Blind Faith the mind suffers a form of madness, and is unable to think or act rationally in many aspects of life's reality.

I don't know... you've got to watch out for physics.

"It is now quite lawful for a Catholic woman to avoid pregnancy by a resort to mathematics, though she is still forbidden to resort to physics or chemistry." ~ H.L. Mencken
