How come when I pass the housing projects...there are always a lot of high end cars in the parking lot?

These people are on welfare correct? They must be criminals..why doesn't the country do something about this..I mean it's blantlanty obvious

In an "innocent until proven guilty" legal system you can only do something about crime if you can prove that a crime has been committed. Being that the drug dealers are not going to turn themselves in and the people buying the drugs arent going to say anything, there is nobody to report the crime.

Secondly, because many of these criminals have information about some of the more serious crimes such as murder, car thefts, etc.. they are permitted to engage in lesser criminal activity. If the cops go lock them up, the trust and respect between the cops and criminals will be broken. And being that the criminals have enough money to get smart enough lawyers to keep them out of prison, they will eventually make their way back to the projects and nobody will cooperate with the police.

You gotta know by now that there are reasons why stereotypes about any particular group of people exist. I have noticed the escalades being driven by 16 yr olds in the hood. I have seen the Benz drivers in section 8 housing. BUT I have also see the beat up pacers and dodge darts as well, and I think its senseless to sit around drawing attention to these specifics. Its unhelpful and kind of irrelevant.

Some cars are actually given by better off people as donations. Some are relatives cars that they loan to them. Some cars are actually being paid for and if it is not paid off they are working to pay for the car within reason they are allowed to own it rather than have an old broken down car they have to pay to fix constantly that is not safe. Some cars are those of drug dealers or prostitutes who are making money on the side (I have spoken with these people but it is rare as they usually are too messed up to afford it in the long run) Some cars are given to them by better off family who will not carry the entire economic load for a family they did not produce but want them to be able to survive a bit better or it is the best they can do for their family. MY father just let my niece live in his old house rather than she live in government housing but he has always provided her a car even when she was in government housing and this is not even his child her mother went off to college in another state to become a nurse. She is 30 now living in his house. Many well off relatives would rather rent the house he gets no tax write offs for this as she works as does her father of her children. My father is very old and disabled not rich but tight with a penny so he can sort of afford this but not well. Some are the boyfriends or girlfriends who visit them or live there illegally or a friend who is staying there
illegally helping out with the bills because welfare is not enough to survive on if you only have one child. ETC. I have met or known people in all these situations. Some people really need it but some just learn to work the system by working under the table, getting help from boyfriends, family, exhusbands etc. The biggest being the illegal alien crowds I have met whose fathers of their kids work for cash often making enough they would have to pay at least a copayment at the health department for services but because they say I do not have a boyfriend or he makes too little (one I know had the father of the baby she was carrying right in the health clinic I took a poor woman there I am bilingual and someone I know knew her) while they pulled up in cars nicer than mine and I know they do not have legal drivers licenses. Because they have no socials or identification they cannot get married here much less be tracked for fraud on medical assistance. They may not be elgible for Medicaid but the children they have are and they can use the free clinics locally for neonatal care. I have no problem with this but if I go to use the system there because I have a social security card to check my income I have to pay a copayment and I am not a rich person they obviously make more money than I do. And they made me pay for the month I worked before when I lost my job based on what I made the month before not that I had no money that month a hundred or more dollars for the visit. For that price I would have paid for a regular doctor and they sent that bill afterwards not telling me they were going to charge me. OH the girl I knew working the system dealing drugs working a job under the table getting money from a boyfriend and exhusband along with a mother was a white girl whose mother was from Germany originally. She eventually went to jail for cocaine dealing and abuse. She had issues because she had been sexually abused as a child but that does not excuse it all may explain part of it.

NOT ALL PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE PROJECTS ARE ON WELFARE INCLUDING ME. SOME PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE PROJECTS HAVE TWO JOBS AND ARE TRYING HARD TO RAISE CHILDREN AS SINGLE PARENTS. WITH THE MONEY THEY HAVE THEY CAN'T AFFORD A HOUSE, BUT CAN PAY RENT AND GET THE THINGS THAT ARE NEEDED IN LIFE. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU WORK AS HARD AS THEY DO, U NEED TO REWARD YOURSELF AT THE END OF THE DAY AND SOMETIMES A CAR IS JUST A GIFT TO YOURSELF AT THE END OF THE DAY.
