I am interested to know what, whatever faith you happen to be, significance you apply to the particular ceremonial practice and rituals you use. How does it reaffirm or strengthen your belief? Do you believe that such practice is central to your faith and how would you feel if you were unable to access such practice.

All faiths welcome, no copy and paste please, just personal feelings...

As a Christian wanker, every morning in the bathroom I see the Holy Virigin when I am in the shower, and while muttering Psalm 88 (In the morning shall my prayer come before thee) I kneel and come before God in the shower drain. This awakens me blissfully, and the spirits within me. When I am on my way to work, I usually mutter a few more psalms in my car. Young atheist girls, Gods marvellous creations in their school uniforms, assist in making me feel humble before God, at the traffic lights - parking spaces when I feel too overwhelmed by His power.

I feel that the more I yank the devils chain, so to speak, the stronger I feel in my faith. I am aware it's not a common ritual of course, but I am a Catholic. If I had made it to priesthood I might have had access to nuns and clergy boys, but I take pride in finding my own peace. Jesus was nailed to a wooden cross, and with my hands firmly attached to my own wood I know how he suffered.

If I were unable to do this, I would be liable to go into priesthood all the same - from the rear, probably.

Greetings!

First of all I think this is a good question in the interest of exchanging thoughts and ideas!

Keeping it simple, as far back as man can remember, his approach to the Creator as he understood or misunderstood Him, has been approached thru many rituals, customs and forms, each becoming more prevalent as mans understanding increased. Mainly they're used as tools of "remembrance" and are not the Faith itself.

If I were in an situation whereas they couldn't be practiced, all would still be well because rituals, customs, and ceremonies, etc., cannot alter the Nature of Truth!

use regular Church Service and their Prayers and Petitions to THE DEITY like all Church goers do. Then in private whenever possible use certain Ancient Way Rituals and Ceremonies to suppliment the Christian Traditions of Prayer. Talking to THE CREATOR is really an individual's personal practice so whatever helps strengthen YOUR PERSONAL FAITH/BELIEF SYSTEM as long as it is done with RESPECT and A SERIOUS HONORING MANNER should work for you. respect the belief system of others if you expect your belief system to be respected in return.
