Didn't jesus always teach in parables,double meaning? Carnal man would seek God in a private place and pray.Did he teach his deciples to enter their hearts in spirit to pray?

meditate. Shut yourself down from the external world and focus on the inner conciousness. Hence, meditate.

You really need to learn Jacobean English or use an different version; I am using NIV.
In the KJV, the Greek word is translated to closet and in the NIV , it is translated room, The Greek word has a number of English meanings.

Jesus means simply that we should be unlike the world and to go somewhere private and pray the "Lord's Prayer" or something like that. When you go in a closet you are not part of this world but, you are separate from this world and you should very proud of it.

It means go to your private place and pray. You need to fellowship with God one on one to develop that relationship between you and God.
