Ever had that condition when you move your head/ turn over in bed and the whole room starts spinning around you. How long did it last. I had it 2 and1/2 years ago and I am still afraid of lying down flat at night to sleep

Ido sympathise with you...i had a bad attack about a year and a half ago, quite unexpectedly i went to get out of bed in the middle of the night and fell backwards and felt as though iwas rolling over backwards....it was really scary...i thought i'd had a stroke! I had never suffered with this before. Doctor diagnosed vertigo and that first attack made me ill for a week it was horrible. since then i have had one other attack which lasted about 48 hous. occasionaly i bend over and get a dizzy spell and i must admit it still frightens me slightly but touch wood i have not had a repeat as bad as the first. try not to worry too much or it will rule your life...you should be fine lying down...i am. I find that dizzy spells start if i am over tired or stressed so try and take care of yourself...hope you stay well

I had a similar experience earlier this year, I had got up about 5 am (for the loo) and all was ok. I went to get up at 7am and the world was spinning, it took me an hour to get out of bed ,and felt permanently sick.
My Doc said it was an inner ear problem, and the only way to find out exactly what was the problem was with an autopsy !! That was a bit final, I thought.
A friend of mine had also had the problem, and swore by "Stugeron 15" which is a sort of travel sick pill.
Fortunately, it has not recurred, but it leaves you feeling very vulnerable I have been clear now for some months, so hope fro the best btw I am 77 years old, but that doesn't seem to have any bearing on it

I got it when I had an inner ear infection. I got told it is to do with the fluid in the middle ear that causes vertigo.

I found it stopped after about a month. I can go slightly dizzy if I move my head too quick. I don't have a problem when I go to bed anymore.

Hope this helps. :-)

I use to have it real bad. I use to put a lot of pressure on my ears buy holding my nose to clear ears. I put very little pressure on my ears now and I almost never have any vertigo.
