The only thing that will decrease the file size is lowering the bit rate. You will lose quality of sound by doing this though.

Sometimes the RealMedia .rm file sounds better than the .mp3 and it is one third the size of a mp3. The RealMedia format doesnt have a Bitrate component.

There is no such thing and even if there was why would you want to? the only thing you are going to reduce is the sound quality of the song.

MP3's are already a compressed format.
