I trained my dog using treats. Just teach her what u want to do..if you want her to sit, push her butt down till she sits and have her stay like that while you say SIT over and over, then give her a treat. They catch on quick. Same goes for all the others...lay down, rollover...just be persistent, only give her a treat if she does what you ask. I've managed all the simple ones. except "shake" if you get that one ...tell me how u did it. Good luck.

The best recommendation i can give you is to sign up for obedience classes. They are invaluable for socialization and for helping you to learn to train your dog effectively. It is also a tremendous help to have a trainer help you through any problems you may be having.
In training you must be patient, never punish a dog for not understanding what is ask,be consistant, be persistant, take time, don't ask for too many things all at once, don't ever give a command you can't reinforce immediately, always end every training session on a good note, make training happy and fun, don't train if you are in a bad mood, don't give mixed signals and work on building a bond of trust & friendship with your dog.

Train the dogs when they are between 1 and 2 years old.
Teach them your mother tongue first.
Talk to them in your mother tongue only.
Dogs will understand our language very well.
Once you are sure they are understanding your words only then start the actual training.
Show him the place where he is supposed to sleep.
Show him the plate from which he is supposed to eat.
When you feed him do not allow him to start eating until you ask him to go ahead.
Handle the food with your own hands. As he is eating please put your hand in his plate and mix the food.
This will be a major training because dogs generally do not like anyone touching their food as they are afraid that the food would be snatched away and thus many dogs bite when we go near their plates while they are eating.
When you disapprove an action do not beat the dog. Tell him that you are a good dog and tell him what he did is not good.
When a dog does not eat tell him that you will take him for a walk only when he eats the food. They will immediately obey as they love walking and going around.
Train them to walk freely unchained only.
When they chase somebody on the road immediately tell them that this is not a good behaviour of a good dog like you and curb the tendency on all the occasions whenever this happens.
Do not encourage chasing a rag picker, a cyclist, a child or anything for that matter.
Never frighten them with crackers, whip, stick etc.
Thanks for your time.
Yours sincerely,

You really should buy a good dog training book (there are lots available at pet stores), or take him to obedience class.
The level of training your dog reaches will depend mostly upon YOU and how much you are willing to put into it. It will require consistency and self-discipline on your part.

some tips i have learned from my past dogs is dont train them with treats. If you do your dog will only rely on the treats and not you. When they please you, praise them. when they do something wrong use a harsh voice. do not hit them or anything like that. when they do something wrong, do not use their name in a harsh tone. if you do that they will learn their name as a bad thing. go to a ***** school with your dog so you and your dog can work together on the process of training. your dog will learn to understand you and you will learn to communicate with him/her.
Good Luck :)

Ever watch The Dog Whisperer? He is awesome. If you can afford someone who practices his techniques, I'd go for that style of training.

get a biscuit, try it when they havent been fed yet.
try sit. tell them sit and push there butt down . give them a treat.
When you do feed them make them sit first.
I usually try and incorporate a hand signal too. Always the same word, signal and tone to your voice.Just keep it up till they learn sit then move onto another one.
do it several times every day.
