You mean Washington, DC? Then definitely go to the Smithsonian. There are at least a dozen of their main museums on the Washington Mall. One or more has to have something you're interested in seeing.

Also go see the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Viet Nam and Korean war memorials too. The Viet Nam Wall is awe-inspiring. If you can, spend a few minutes people-watching here. It will change your view of the world for awhile that day...

Go to the National Zoo. It's great.
Go to some of the Smithsonian Museums. I like the Air & Space and Natural History best. Go to the Hirschhorn sculpture gallery (outdoor).
Go to the National Gallery (art).
See the view from the top of the Washington Monument.
Ride the subway to all of these places to conserve energy. :o) And it's a very deeeeep subway - I always expected to see flames at the bottom of the escalators.

Stage a protest at the white house!=)
j/k
I enjoyed the museums and scenery. They've got some huge malls there. And if you like 3D stuff, there's a 3D museum SOMEWHERE around there. It's by the metro, but I have no idea where and he normally doesn't advertise, but it's definitely worth a look.
