Sounds like you might have Major Depressive Disorder with a comorbid, or co-occuring, anxiety disorder. The anxiety may be a social phobia, or perhaps panic disorder (though it sounds more like social phobia). If your doctor was of no help, meet with a psychologist who will assess your current condition, feelings, and thoughts, and will work with you to think happier and healthier. See a cognitive behavioral psychologist, as he or she will be of the most help to you. Good luck!

Honey your depression is major and your physician is an idiot. Get yourself another physician, stat! There is light at the end of this tunnel, you just can't see it yet. A mild anti-depressent would help you a great deal to start with. Once you have a physician on board, time to sit down and talk to someone. There seem to be some major issues going on in your life and if you have to drink before seeing your boyfriend, I would start there. Good Luck.

Before you write yourself off as a mental case, check out the symptoms link at www.hufa.org. Seriously, most of the symptoms you mentioned could also be due to low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) that is controllable by diet.

There is a short article on the website called Low Blood Sugar.

If you have any question after reading that, or just need someone to talk to, please e-mail me.

You have several symptoms of depression. You need to see a doctor to rule out other conditions that may be causing these symptoms. Hang in there. Depression is a very treatable illness.

based on ur description u r not suffering from major depression...coz during major depression one has no interest what so ever in anything. food happens to be teh last thing on their mind. the only thing major depressive think abt hwo to end their lives. anxiety, loss of weight, loss of appetite, loss of interest in activities taht one liked b4, constant headaches and backaches, helplessness, feelings of guilt...basically one thinks that he/she is at the dead end and there is no way out....

wot u r going through could be atypical depression and stress...i think u shoudl talk to ur doctor or psychiatrist...

i don't mean to be crass as having complete any degree in any respect is a few thing to be respected for, extraordinarily a PhD, yet math and engineering, sciences often, remedy genuine worldwide issues logically. whilst it contains liberal arts, it fairly is style of such as you in simple terms fluff approximately to tutor your opinion (it is the operative word right here) is actual and others isn't. you do not probably remedy something human beings care approximately, and the only people who care approximately it rather is those examining that section. returned, no offence, it rather is in simple terms the thought linked with it. i've got not got faith it rather is a case (often) is of "we are extra suited than you", it fairly is extra that the liberal arts do exactly not do plenty.

as a sufferer of mild depression myself, id definatly but you in the "major depression" catagory. forget about your regular doc, for that stuff you have to see a psychiarist. they're pretty cool, its nice to have some one to talk to you know? (especially a person you dont know that well, cuz then you dont have to worry about them judging you) good luck!
