10.5 illegals. Let's say 8 mln Latinos, the rest from 1mln from Asia, 1mln from Europe, 0.5 from Africa.
These are just rough numbers. You can make your own estimates, accoridng to any data available to you.
8mln Latinos:detention:$200(you must a have a reliable database to go after them), $100 to put them in prison and prosess them, $50 /a day in prison. Once you put them in prison, every detanied has the right for legal defense. You have to pay lawyers and keep them detained while in process. Another $250 a person. Then ,if eventually deported, $200 on average(if in a border state-less, if in the northern state-expensive) for transportation. That's only it they are Mexicans or Canadian. If else, a plane ticket alone costs on average $1000. That's only the ticket, again you have costs for detention, prison stay. And you have to build special prisons to put 10.5 million people. Separate for women, children, men...
If you suggest deportation , how do you imagine it?

We are talking about over $3,000 a PERSON!
If illegals are 10.5 millions, that makes
31 500 000 000. Wanna pay?
Dr.Z, hust because you were handed out a FREE PASS years ago, you are no better than any illegal! You came in a very different time, when almost anyone could show up here. What do you know about today's laws?!?

MarkS, you obviously NEVER read US immigration laws. There is NO process for becoming a US citizen! Only if you winn the Green Card Lottery you can come as an immigrant. Or if you haev relatives here, in which case again you get a free pass.

$31 500 000 000 and it's not just a one time payment, because all Mexicans will be back the next day. That makes deportation silly.

Naphti, you are saving US from your BEST WORKERS? Hahahahahahahaha!
Your terrorists are here legally and you worry about a tomato-picker who works 12 hours a day to feed his family? What a stupid nation! If this country goes down, it will be because you have more fat than brain.

Why would we have to pay for deportation when the importation is so cheap?
But this whole immigration issue isn't my thing either.
I'm just an impartial, unbiased observer watching the racist remarks coming from both sides.
I wonder if we could have a situation like the had in Rwanda in this country? It wouldn't surprise me. I know there are plenty fantasizing about it.
Would I pay to have illegals deported? Nah.
Would I pay to have some other American's deported?
It depends.

If you call "this nation" stupid with more fat than brain - why the hell are you here? Go back to your GREAT country, why did you leave your wonderful nation in a first place? oh yeah, because you wanted a better life. Yup, this nation has a lot more to offer than wherever the hell you came from.
I can't believe how ignorant you people are. You come here illegally, breed like rabbits, hate those you feed off (yes, WE pay every time you go to the hospital, drive on a freeway, your kids go to school, etc, etc, etc). I would not pay to get you deported - I would give you no choice but to leave. Why keep you in jail and again pay for it? Hell no! give you a plane ticket - keep dreaming! we already paying too much for all of the services that you and those you produced are using. Why are you still here if you hate it so much, if you hate US so much? You came to OUR country - not the other way around!

We already pay for finding, trying and deporting illegals

It has cost $10 BILLION for US taxpayers per year as an average

Estimated $2700 per household with an increase to $7700 per household in the next years.

And this is after you account for taxes and wages that they bring into the picture.

Bunt, a few points:
1. There are ways beyond the Lottery for people to come legally. Worker visa mean anything to you? Just because you've burned your bridges doesn't mean others have.
2. The brain is primarily FAT

You're not thinking outside the box. Why would illegal immigents get the same rights as U.S. citizens? If you get caught and can not prove citizenship then you get deported. No lawyer, no separate prisons, a very short process time and then they are sent back. Will this cost money; yes. There is a process to become a citizen and if they can't go through it then why do we have to "process" them according to our laws. I am more concern with stopping illegal immigration before trying to deport all of those here. And I would only really support deportation to those that cause trouble, short prison terms and then send them back. The rest I believe can become citizens if they began to go through the correct process that has been around for decades now.

In reality, most illegals wire the money to their country. U.S. Government can stop this practice at once if we want. We can catch illegals and they should have their money right here in US.
We can fine them for illegal entry to U.S. and let them pay for most part of deportation expense.

Don't think Government is not going after illegals and businesses. They just catch four illegals in a dry cleaner and four in the diner. Business got $ 40,000 fine for hiring. This is in Northern Virginia. They also raid car wash places as well.

True ! US issue
H1B Visa - BA with Experience or MA required. Professional field of Engineering, Math, art, accounting .....
H1C visa - Nurses. 500 limit on a year
H2A visa - Temp work on farming
H2B visa - Temp work on none pro work other than farming (waiters, cleaners, shop keepers, ..........
H3 visa - Training
EB-1 - Person with extraordinary ability
EB-2 Researcher, Professor
EB-3 Any jobs that US companies cannot fill in the U.S. with reasonable try

So please don't write that U.S. don't give opportunity other than illegal marriage. The government does , but U.S. cannot take care of every poor countries and their people.
When you have time, drive by WV. mining country. You will find out there are hard working people in US. that American have to take care of first. Illegals are not our enamies, but they are not our priority.

I imagine that it should be payed for by the employers of illegal aliens. I also imagine that our government can use the money currently being given to many illegals to deport them. They can be fed cheaply while they are being detained and awaiting deportation. We won't let them starve. I also imagine the illegals can pay for their own deportation with the money illegally acquired by working jobs that should have gone to our citizens. Does that answer your question or do I need to come up with more ideas? You don't really think we are supposed to throw our hands up in defeat because there are so many of them here, do you? Where there's a will there's a way!

I think JD made it pretty clear. I feel sorry for you and your lack of education. You refuse to see what really is the problem. The last comment you said, are you worried about a dude picking tomtoes. Well as a tax payer yes. Because we are paying for his health and his families health care. We are paying for all of his kids education. WE are paying for it all. Justify that bunt. I know your good at justification, just not good at FACTS.

It would be a one time cost versus the perpetual drain from our illegal immigrants. I'd be more then happy to have a one time tax fee to pay my share.

Plus, if the government fines the companies hiring the illegals, that would offset the cost.

Shoot, the government spend several billion a year sending dune buggies to Mars. Why can't we justify $500 million to save the country?
