no dogs are 100% hypoallergenic... i know because i am very allergic to most animals... there is a list of low dander animals... but i would still strongly suggest spending some time with one before you decide whether it is right for you and your allergies...
i have a soft coated wheaten terrier and he doesn't shed a coat... he has never made my allergies act up... i am also very good around most other terriers like yorkies, scotties and westies, poodles, shi-tzus, chinese cresteds (hairless) and bischons...
i would STAY AWAY from dogs like grey hounds, huskies, jack russel terriers, golden retrievers, pomeranians, pit bulls, rotty's, pugs, dalmations, mastiffs and dogs of that nature...
always look for dogs that do not seasonally shed their coat!!!!

There are no hypo-allergenic breeds. The organization that bred the first Labradoodles found that they had little success breeding them for allergic blind people, since many were sensitive to them still. They found that with hair and saliva test on Lab puppies, they could find a puppy that the person did not react to just as easily!! It is often the individual dog.

I have a Bischon Frise and she doesn't shed, nor is her dander noticeable. I have horrific allergies, and she causes me no problems. Although there is no such thing as a "hypo-allergenic" dog, there are resources that can tell you more about what specifically to look for:

No dog is hypo allergenic. It's not really their hair that affects most people, it's the dander, and all dogs have it.

Any that don't shed. Most people recommend Yorkies (but they have small bladders and they bark a lot). Get something that has fur that is more like human hair (that is why the Yorkshire Terrier [Yorkie] comes highly recommended).
