depends on what you want to do to defend yourself. With out killing someone, a good thing is a wrist lock, which is grabbing the hand, placing your thumb on their fifth knuckle( the one attached to the pinky) and twisting outward.

Can't go far wrong aiming for the nose. If you miss the target (and in the heat of the moment that could easily happen, no matter how good you are), you're still in with a good chance of getting the eyes or mouth.

If you do hit the target - bingo! The eyes will go too, and if the pain and blood aren't enough, you will also greatly effect their breathing - giving you time to leg it to safety.

A good palm strike to this area is a good idea. That way if the police do pay you a visit, they'll nearly always take a look at your knuckles, which will look perfectly ok.

If you intend to learn how to stop any kind of violence the you should have this system of Bruce Perry, Patriot Self Defense , a program that you merely can find it here https://tr.im/UHVjK
Patriot Self Defense will teach you a very effective self-defense system that is been field-tested in domiciles, at government events and on a few of the meanest roads in the world against the absolute most callous, clever and harmful criminal.
With Patriot Self Defense you will find out that is easier then you estimated to defend your self because you don't have to be an expert or have energy, you only have to know how to do certain actions, easy actions but deathly.

the solar plexus (where the ribs connect to the chest under the breast bone) the face is a good striking area, but aim for the nose; a face strike especially the nose will cause their eyes to shut tightly and their eyes to water, follow that up with a groin strike to the family jewels or the neck will give you more time to get away. just think center line; all your primary targets are right where you need them right there in the middle the S.I.N.G method is a good mnemonic reminder.

Best self defence is TARA - Turn around and run away.
If you can not get away throat and balls are good to aim for. Another is ears if you smack with both hands on both ears (like the tango add if you are British) it can burst their eardrums and really disorientate someone.

Even knowing those will not help you defense yourself better. If you want to be serious about learning self defense, the best thing to do is go to local gym and learn.

Personally for me, it's the side of thigh. However not very many people will know how to do that type of damage.

The majority of the weak points are on the centerline of the body, eyes, nose, mouth (hook a finger in your opponent's cheek and watch them follow you wherever you want to go), throat, solar plexus, groin, feet. Generally the technique is to hit them hard and run like hell.
