As the previous posters have alluded to, being agnostic or atheist doesn't automatically prevent one from rationally contributing to a discussion of spirituality or religion. In fact, atheism and agnosticism are themselves spiritual beliefs. So to answer you question:
1. No, it's not ironic.
2. They post because they have a thought to contribute or a belief to share, which, I assume, is the same reason everyone else is posting here.
3. Yes, apparently you are missing something.
4. No, I am not missing something.

Isn't it ironic that you don't know what you're talking about?
Atheists have a lack of Religion, so that is a valid reason to discuss religion in the R&S section. It is still relevant!
You need not be religious to be Spiritual. I am not religious and I consider myself very spiritual.
Yes, you are missing something. You are missing alot.

You are a little late with your question, it has already been asked and answered time after time.
The definition of religion is a belief in something. Those who are Atheists believe that there is no God.
Got that now?
Why do you post in this section? Most and I say most of the Christians only quote Bible verses and try to tell the non-Christians, or Atheists that there is a God and we are all going to hell if we don't change our ways.
I don't see the title of this section saying: Christians sell Christ to Atheists
So get a life even, you did miss something, the boat.

It says 'Religion & Spirituality'. There are religions and spiritualities that have NOTHING to do with God. Furthermore, there are spiritualities and religions that have god in it but do not subscribe to theistic concepts of god. Spirituality, itself,.is really not about the "whats in it for me" stuff that's associated with religion; spirituality is about trying to reduce the self/ego and the "whats in it for me" stuff.

Spirituality does not necessarily refer to a deity. We also are curious, and have questions to ask. I will copy someone else's answer here.
Why do we, humans, who are not rocks, post questions in the Earth Science category?

Point to the Atheists and Agnostics section and we'll head over there.
