Without resorting to three rolls of duct tape, 17 yards of velcro, super glue and a belt. My boyfriends nephew is a monster. He constantly yells around (duct tape), won't stop jumping and clapping (velcro) won't sit still to do homework (super glue) and won't listen to anybody (belt)...now I haven't tried out these options YET.............so what should I do

I don't think it is really your job to make him behave unless you are babysitting. He apparently is bored. Get him something to do. No sugar and no red food dye.

Why are you worried about your boyfriends nephew's behavior? Are you raising him? If so, then you're the parent, and you remove privileges until the kid gets the message. Set up rules, set up consequences for breaking the rules, and when the rules are broken you enforce the consequence. For example, if the rule is no yelling in your home, and the consequence is time out for yelling, then #1 you cannot yell, and when the child yells, you put the kid in time out. If the child complains, point out that he broke the rule, and this is the consequence. But if you're not the parent of this child, then this is none of your business, and stay the heck out disciplining the child. If my brother's girlfriend tried to discipline one of my children, I would not be a happy camper at all, and would probably tell my brother to tell his girlfriend to back off, and let me be the parent.

Well since you're not his mother there's not much you can do, and he knows that. If his mom doesn't discipline him, you're out of luck, sweetie. Your boyfriend should have some kind of pull with his nephew, since he's the boy's uncle.....what is your boyfriend doing about the situation??? Has he tried to discipline his nephew??? He should be trying before you. I know you wish you could do all those things to your boyfriend's nephew (i know how you feel) but since you aren't his mother (or his aunt) then there's really nothing you can do.

At age 8, if he's not disciplined already, he won't be! Try prayer....it works all the time!

God Bless

He is your boy friends nephew? Why would you have to discipline him at all. That is for his parents to do. And sad to say they don't sound like they have done a very good job so far. He might be spoiled and left to do whatever he wants at home. What you have to get into his head is that when he is with you or at your home you have different rules then he does at home. And if he doesn't want to listen to them then he leaves! You shouldn't be putting up with someone Else's child being a brat!

You should try some of those options as they are about the only thing other than whacking them to make them mind..It is a really bad age for boys

You are not in any position to deal with a child that is not yours, the person who really needs to deal with this behaviour is his parents and his uncle, not you. You could tell them what they need to do, but you cant do all those things to that child.

whisper when he yells

get down and look him in the eyes say we're inside, say it's not play time; he really might not know! that "It's not playtime."

help him do homework while sitting - whispering - and telling him to think with his head not his bootie

(be his friend) SOUNDS LIKE HE NEEDS ONE

It shouldn't be your problem. I have a daughter and I will not let anybody hit her but her mother and I. Talk to the parents and tell them to beat his *** until he can have some respect.
