Faith, religion are mostly taught. If your parents were Catholic you have a great chance of growing up to be catholic. If you were not a Christian(doesn't matter the denomination you choose) what were the EXPERINCES that caused your you to become christian.

I think much of those things are taught in the home by your parents. As a small child you learn to be kind (as in treating a pet ). You learn to be honest, you learn to treat people with respect. You are taught manners. You basically are taught the Ten Commandments without saying this is what the Bible is teaching us to be this way. I think it starts in the home and grows from there. As children we play with nice kids, we learn to stay away from those not so nice. You learn life values and apply them in your life. You are taught prayers at meal time, you are taught children prayers at bedtime. You learn all through you childhood and as a young person or teen you chose a path to go down. You either do those things that have been taught and find your place in the world or you go another direction. I was taught about Jesus and God tho my parents didn't attend church. As an adult I also taught those things to my kids. It goes through generations the same as it goes through generations of peope making bad cholces.

I think even if you are raised in a Christian home and are taught that type of lifestyle, there still has to be a point in your life when you accept it personally. Just because Grandpa was a preacher and your Momma taught you Bible stories, that does not mean you will go to heaven. It's a personal decision to believe for yourself and accept Jesus as your Savior.

You never know just what will effect someone, it happens when it happens. I have seen some of the hardest cruelest people change in just the blink of an eye. Each had their own breaking point but each has a breaking point.

When there is much has bee forgiven there is great love.

my parents were not Christians....yet sent us to church.....maybe just so they could have some time alone....lol they had six kids

Anyway the truth of the message that I was a sinner in need of God's lovingkindness broke through to me......on practical levels, the love of so many Christians.was a shining example of a power outside themselves, an attractive drawing force of kindness, wisdom and peace..

Here is a small tribute toalltheir livesand a thankyou frommy heart for their example of how I should then live.....Alma,Joel,Barbara,Ruth, Ann, Norma, there are hundreds
more.....but I hope it makes some sense We learn notjust from words......but from lives
