The name Christian was not used until the Book of Acts in Antioch to identify the followers of Christ.....after the crucifixion and Jesus' ascension. It was never applied directly to Jesus Christ. Jesus was in fact born a Jew...born under the law.
Interesting that the things you say.... I have never heard before. In 40 years time I have never once heard, "Christ was the first Christian".
The Bible does tell us that in the fullness of time He was born of a virgin, born under the law, to deliver us from the law. He was born a Jew, raised as a Jew, but then (in His words) He made all things new when He established the New Covenant of Christianity.
True Christians who know anything about Christ and the Bible basically agree with your statement.....so, what point are you trying to make?
Oh yes....there was one little Old Testament law He did not follow...the one that really got Him in all that trouble. He did not observe the Jewish Sabbath.

I've never heard many people say that. In fact I've not heard anyone but you say that. I know I've never said he wasn't a Jew.
I did hear one good Baptist say she preferred the King James to the newer translations. She said if it was good enough for John the Baptist, it's good enough for me.
And about that following Old Testament laws. Not according to the Pharisee's he didn't. Christ came to make a new covenant. One that wouldn't be easily corrupted .
And doing away with them. What he did say was none of the old laws would go away until they were fulfilled.
Go read Luke VERY SLOWLY so it sinks in. and IF you are going to paraphrase the Bible at least learn what it says before you go substituting and taking things out of context.

No He was a Nazarene and did not profess to belief the Jewish pharisees if you happen to read the bible. Christianity was molded after his likeness and I am most definately not a JEW. Why Would Jesus profess to be a Jew , when he already knew the Jews would not believe He was the Messiah? And he might not have done away with OT laws but He did amend some of them. The 10 commandments are still to be followed but most of the Abrahaimic laws were redefined.

Jesus Christ was God made flesh and He was born a Jew. He is the Jewish Messiah, but through His death and Resurrection, God's ultimate act of love, He brought Salvation to all mankind. This I have know since I was a child. I don't think I've ever heard people say that Jesus was the "first Christian". Jesus is the Christ. The word "Christian" refers to those who have accepted Him as their Lord and Savior.

You didn't finish that scripture. Matthew 5:17Do not think I came to destroy the law or the prophets, I came not to destroy but to fulfill. Those where prophecys about his coming and he fulfilled them.
Colossians 2:14 and blotted out the handwitten document against us which consisted of decrees and which was in opposition to us and he has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the torture stake.
those old laws were done away with unless you are still burning animals to God in your back yard.
Acts 11:26 First called Christians in Antioch, that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.
Long after Jesus death and resurrection.

Christ was a Jew.
He was not the first Christian--neither was he ever a Christian, nor will he ever be.
Christians accept Jesus' gift of salvation. Christ did not need to be saved. The offerer of the gift is not the receiver of the gift, in that the gift-giver has the gift to give, and the receiver, until he accepts it, does not.

jesus was a jew" is propaganda to control ignorant american christians- no other christians (europe, latin america, canada) believe this nonsense. it's actually working lol. they control their government and media and no one notices or cares. same thing with "chosen people" no one outside US or in any other era believed it. but now that jews have all the money, the christians being mercenaries, go along because they don't have strong faith- they gravitate towards whomever has power and money. it's much easier than challenging the government, religious establishment, etc.
as for christianity in general- it does not make sense to worship another man as God. God created every human equal and no one is superior to another group, racism nationalism it's all BS. anytime a human tries to associate God or godliness with himself or his group of people only, you should automatically be suspicious. do not believe everything the church tells you- they need money just like congressmen to make a living and they're all corrupt- they preach only what is financiall in their self-interest.

Of course Christ was a Jew. :) "Christian" means "of Christ", or follower of Christ.

The Seal Of The Messianic Church EVIDENCE THAT THE EARLIEST CHURCH IN EXISTANCE WAS JEWISH One of the strongest evidences for this is the presence of many artifacts, clay pots, and lamps, which are engraved with what has come to be called the SEAL OF THE MESSIANIC CHURCH. The seal has been copyrighted as " Seven Branched Candelabra/Star of David/Fish" A book entitled "The Messianic Seal of the Jerusalem Church" by Reuven Efraim Schmalz and Raymond Robert Fischer has been published (Olim Publications, P.O. Box 2111,Tiberias, Israel. Top of Seal see the Seven Branch Candelabra that stood before God in the Temple. Below that, see the Star of David, which is from the 7th century BC. It is composed of two interlaced, equilateral triangles or DALTHA (D for David). "A star shall come forth from Jacob, and a scepter shall rise from Israel" Numbers 24:17. Below the star is a fish which is an early Christian symbol in Israel. It was transported to Rome, and by 150 AD. Clement of Alexandria suggested to all his readers that they include the sign of a fish in their personal seals to identify them as Christians. Later the Greek spelling for the word fish ICHTHUS was incorporated. The first five letters of the words that spell "Jesus, Christ, God, Son, and Saviour." In the Messianic Seal, the cross appears as the Hebrew letter TAW. The artifacts were discovered in 1990 by Tech Oteeoos, a 90 year old Greek Orthodox monk, in the vicinity of the, what is believed to be, the original Church founded and pastored by James the Just, the half-brother of Jesus. When the actual grotto was excavated by Oteeoos, numerous inscriptions were found on the walls. The period of its use on Mount Zion could only have been from the crucifixion in 30 AD to 135AD.
