Eating too much of anything can cause weight gain, but generally speaking, no -- fiber does not cause you to gain weight. As a matter of fact, the foods that are highest in fiber (beans, whole grains, certain fruits) are very weight-loss friendly. High fiber diets are good for lowering cholesterol AND lowering weight, as long as you have the rest of your diet in balance as well. 25 grams of fiber a day or more will keep your cholesterol in check, and a diet that has that much fiber and is rounded out with lean meats, healthy fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated), other fruits and veggies for vitamins and minerals, and lowfat dairy products will help you lose weight.

No. If anything, fiber will help u lose weight. Apart from acting as a clog-crubber for arteries (hence all that lowering cholesterol advertising you see with high fiber products), it also reduces the volume of digestible carbs that go through your system with the food you eat. In our average American diet, we get waaaay more grams of carbs than we need for healthy weight maintenance. This is one reason Americans get so fat (mainly from sugar and refined wheat products like pastries)
Total carbs (g) - fiber (g) = digestible carbs. The lower the digestible carbs, the more your body will shed unnecessary carbohydrate-attributed weight.

Yes, only if you eat it late in the afternoon and at night. In the morning and early afternoon, your body will use Whole Grains (best source of fiber) as energy. Later in the day your body will store the calories from whole grains a fat.
So eat as much fiber as you want before 4-5pm.

fiber isn't digested at all.
fiber prevents some cholesterol from being absorbed in the gut, and if your problem with weight is due to high cholesterol, it could help with losing a bit

Look at a cow...
What do they feed it to make it gain weight...
Grains! Wheat, Oats, Barley, (cereals), Grass.
So, you eat grains, (which is most associated with fibre), then you will increase in weight.
I wish you well..

No. It isn't absorbed. It would probably help with weight control, actually.
