Since a wife does not have to testify against her husband, will the law only allow one wife that right or all of them? If it allows all of them then will it be validating polygamy.

Celestial marriage is the fundie-LDS practice of having more than one wife. Celestial marriage is not recognized by the government. Only one wife can legally be excused from testifying.

Under the eyes of the law the man has one wife. The other woman have to testify.

I think and noticed I said think. Just his 1st wife. They othes aren't legally married.. I don't know much about polygamy. Just been watching Big Love last year...lol
They probably give all wives the right not to testify??

You want to talk law.. Ok under the law Mr Jeffs has only one wife. All the others are mistresses. They can be forced to testify against him without talking any rights from them at all....Jim

This is a point that the lawyers will have to argue as each of them view themselves as his wife
Even if forced to take the stand you can not make them testify!

I'm not sure, considering that in the eyes of the law not all the wives are legally his wives because polygamy is illegal in this country.

I believe only the first wife is considered his legal spouse. Any others are not acknowledged in a court of law.

The government that has him on trial, does not recognize more than one spouse.
