Hey Blondie,

It is called Chondromalacia patella - the wearing away of the cartilage under the knee cap. To test this put your hand you your knee when sitting, then lift your leg. If you feel vibrating in your knee, then that is what you have.

You can take Glucosimine Sulphate to lubricate (naturally) the joints in your body. Proven effective!

Do you exhibit the signs of Arthritis? They include pain, stiffness and sometimes swelling in or around joints. This can make it hard to do the movements you rely on every day for work or taking care of your family. But you can take steps now to avoid arthritis or to reduce pain and keep moving.

There are more than 100 different types of arthritis (some conditions may be grouped under a single name in the listing below) and the cause of most types is unknown. Scientists are currently studying what roles three major factors play in certain types of arthritis. These include the genetic factors you inherit from your parents, what happens to you during your life and how you live. The importance of these factors varies for every type of arthritis.

That is very good questions.
You can rule out arthritis by getting an xray taken at the ortho's office.
They can see why you are hurting
And if it isn't anatomical, it may be hormonal.

go to an orthopedic doctor. get him to order x-rays and MRI scans. x-rays will show bone abnormalities. MRI will show muscle and tissue abnormalities. using these findings, the doctor should be able to determine why your knees hurt.
