Philippians 4:13: "for all things I have the strength by virtue of him who imparts power to me."
But, God does not prevent us from sinning (hence the world is full of sinners). If we apply his counsel in our lives, then we will not sin.
Since we are all born imperfect, we do make mistakes, which is why we can "repent" of the sin, stop doing it, ask for forgiveness, and move on. But, if we do not stop doing it, there is no forgiveness.

Yes, to every one of those questions.
1.) I shall have eternal life.
2.) I have been baptized, and have since learned a good number of languages in an effort to witness to all people of all nations.
3.) I evangelize, and, through me, Christ has saved at least one person (that I know of... possibly more).
4.) The only times when my heart's been troubled, were the times my faith was weak.
5.) God does indeed have the power to keep me from sinning. But, He allows me free will, and I can be completely naive and selfish at times... and it's at those times I sin from my own weaknesses.

No, I don't believe that God can keep you from sinning but, I believe that someone's belief and love of God can help them prevent sinning. I do believe that if you love and believe in God, that you will have eternal life. I've been baptized in the Holy Spirit but have yet to speak in tongues, I'd love to though. I BELIEVE!!!

Why "believe" anything? Either there is evidence for something ... or there isn't evidence for it.
In the case of the "God" superstition, there is absolutely no evidence at all for the existence of a God.
On the other hand, there is enormous amounts of historical evidence showing that people have invented all kinds of "Gods." And conveniently, they always invent Gods that say they are God's chosen people, and that it's OK to kill people who don't worship the same imaginary God.
So, no, I don't "believe" that there is a God ... because there is no God.
If I'm wrong about there being a God ... well ... I'll just have to tell her that I'm sorry, and I'll ask her for forgiveness.

Taking different passages out of context is not a good way to try and interpret the bible. Each passage works in concert with many other passages to reveal a truth. I believe the bible literally and figuratively. You just can't take any one passage and rest your entire belief system on it.
All things are possible for God, if he wanted to keep me from sinning he could certainly do so... but he gave me free will, so it is my decision.

Hi Holyghost,
In terms of your quoting of the passage in Mark- you want to share the word in its proper context:
Baptism is not a pre-requisite of salvation, the emphasis in that passage is on believing- if you don't belive and are baptized you're not saved.
Mark 16:16-17 also refers to speaking of tongues, along with handling of snakes. Paul was bit by a snake in Malta, and the idea is that God's divine protection is over us as we go forth and preach the gospel to the nations (as commanded in Mark 16:15) it is not saying that speaking in tongues, or handling of snakes is proof that we are saved and filled with the Spirit.
God is able to keep us from sinning- but the key is stay attached to him (John 15:5- Christ is the vine, we are the brances- apart from Him we can do nothing!)
You've a tremendous ability to exhort- and i appreciate where you are coming from with your questions. Just want to encourage you to quote verses in their context... zeal without knowledge can sometimes be dangerous...
Hope that helps,
Nickster

Don't you just love how the King James translation of the Bible changes things? It was never "shall not die but have eternal life". It was "may have everlasting life" Protestants use Jesus's salvation in a threatening manner rather than an opportunity. Nice going, HERETICS. No wonder the Muslims are always refuting Christianity by using your bastardized altered Bibles. You're just as bad as they are.

I know that I am saved and going to heaven. No one can keep me from committing sin but myself. That is my responsibility. And sense I am no more responsible than any other human being, I am constantly asking God for forgiveness, and his holy word, the Bible, insures me that God is just to forgive me. I do have enough sense, though, to avoid most sins, but the devil is a tricky critter and he is always looking for an opportunity to catch a preacher looking in the wrong direction. thank God for the saving grace and mercy and blood of Jesus Christ.

God didn't make Lemmings out of us. Humans made the choice to sin in the first place. God gave US that choice. We deserve Hell for our misakes, but the foundation of our belief is that God said He would FORGIVE us, and NOT give us what we DESERVE! The price had to be paid for our sins, and the only way that all of our sins could be paid for was if the only perfect son of God died for us. We won't be perfect until Heaven, BUT we are forgiven!!! I BELIEVE IT!!!!!
