I opened the door naked and told them I was Wiccan/Pagan was about to have a ritual and would they like to join in. One looked like he wanted to run and the other looked ready to drop trow and *** me right there on the door step. They both stumbled over their words for a minute then turned and left. They haven't been back. True story......
I don't hold anything against them or dislike them in any way. I just don't like being preached to in my own house or yard or whatever. It was all in good fun really.
Oh, now that I think about it those guys were Mormon. I don't think I've had a JW come to my door. My mom has though, two little old ladies, she sits and talks with them but she's Episcapalian and won't convert so they just talk about stuff.

I as one of Jehovah's Witnesses am always glad to converse about Jehovah and the Bible. The only time anyone of another religion has called on me was to buy some rather expensive candy for some fund raiser. I have never (that I can recall) had someone, other than Witnesses who did not know where I lived ahead of time, contact me about the Bible.
When they do come I explain that I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I then start discussing the Bible. When it is clear no sales are to be made they generally leave. On rare occaisions they stay and we have a nice discussion about God.
PS As someone almost always feels the need to make up answers, I feel I should explain that while it may seem humorous the suggestion of showing up at the door naked is not advisable. Many Witnesses are still minors and/or travel with minors. If I was with my niece and some man came to the door and exposed himself or made some lude offering to or in front of her I would have no other option but to contact the proper authorities.

My mother opened the door to two “Mormon” missionaries many years ago. After she and my father investigated the church for about three years, they finally joined. I was over eight years old at that time, so I was also baptized. Looking back, I must admit it made a big difference in our life. My parents were a lot more loving and really tried to do the right thing – but I sure didn’t want to notice at the time. In fact, I didn’t have much to do with the faith. For unrelated reasons, I left home when I was 16, and did not come back to live until I was twenty and had finished my sophomore year in college. I was determined to bring matters to a head, and either get my family out of this “cult” or get into it with both feet. I had been investigating lots of books and pamphlets written against the church, but in fairness I also looked at the answers given by faithful members of the church. Generally, I found the answers from the Mormons to be more coherent and rational than the anti-Mormon stuff, but knew that didn’t mean the church was true. That summer, I read the Book of Mormon, and you can probably predict how this story ends. I hadn’t read fifty pages before I knew it was true. I’ve been an enthusiastic “Mormon” ever since, and am delighted with my choice. By that time, I was a lot older than the usual age for missionary work, but they allowed me to serve anyway. I spent two years in Scotland as a missionary for the church, came home, married a wonderful girl for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple, completed my education, and have had a wonderful life.
My considered advice? If they come knocking at your door, do what my mother did – listen!

Amen TeeM and achtung_heiss.
Jehovah's Witnesses are doing Jehovah God's will by preaching to all the inhabited earth (Matthew 24:14; 28:19,20) and will never cease doing so until God decides otherwise (Acts 4:20).
Jesus and his disciples didn't just sit in temples waiting for people to come to them they went out and did the preaching work (Luke 8:1; 13:22). The disciples were persecuted for doing the preaching work and flogged, jailed and even executed for doing it just like Jehovah's people today are looked down upon and persecuted for doing God's will (Matthew 24:9). God's servants rejoice when they have been mistreated because like in Acts 5:40-42 they had been counted worthy to be dishonored in behalf of God's name.
Jehovah's Witnesses are not suprised or even personally offended by rude, hateful or even jocular treatment because it is not them personally those people despise but Jehovah God Himself in His name they come in. The Bible gives Jehovah's Witnesses the advice found in Matthew 10:14,15 and Luke 10:10-12 to such people..... to shake the dust off their feet. They would not have the bloodguilt if the people who turn them away should be destroyed (Acts 20:25-27) because the Witnesses did not hold back from giving them counsel of God.
Jehovah's Witnesses do just as written in Acts 5:29 In answer Peter and the [other] apostles said: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men." The world hates the preaching work of Truth because ultimately Satan is ruler of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4)

My favorite had to be when two of my friends and myself were at a woman's house washing her windows. When the door bell rang.
The woman went to the door, saw one of Jehovah's witnesses standing there and slammed the door before the witness could say a word.
Her daughter was standing behind her asked:
"Who was that?", to which the woman replied:
"Just a Jehovah's Witness!"
I couldn't help but think that the brother hadn't said a word and yet Jehovah's name was glorified and made known.

I used to have a couple of JW's come to my door on Saturday morning. We would chat for 30 minutes or so, as I cleaned my motorbike, in the front yard. After a while, they would interrupt the conversation, to say they had to leave.
All I had to do was ramble on & engage them in rational discussion about theology & they would go away, once they realised they were having no impact on me.
NOTE : One time, I broke my leg & WAs on crutches. I lived alone in a small town, about 1/4 mile from the shops. The ONLY people to come visit & ask if they could help, were the Jehovah's Witnesses. Which just goes to show that religious fervor & goodness can go together.

Every true Christian goes from door to door to teach his neighbors about the Bible's good news. It is interesting that only Jehovah's Witnesses are so clearly identified with the preaching work; globally more than 6 million preach publicly each month.
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.
(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house
It's sad when someone who claims to respect the bible actually insults or even advocates attacking a peaceful preacher. Sad but completely expected.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
Incidentally, the typical Jehovah's Witness knocks at hundreds of doors each year. He has already experienced degrading behavior from householders, some of whom: stand there naked, mimic Satanists, proposition lewd acts, brandish weapons, sic dogs, scream profanities, accuse crimes, and call Witnesses anti-American (inside the USA) or pro-American (outside the USA).
Fascists have called Witnesses "communists". Communists have called Witnesses "fascists".
Haven't anti-Witnesses ever heard of 'hedging your bets'? Simple risk vs. reward analysis should make anyone very reluctant to abuse these ministers.
(Acts 5:38,39) I say to you, Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; but if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, you may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.”
Jehovah's Witnesses are going to knock on your door unless you specifically and unequivocally tell them that you do not want them knocking, or if they fear for their own safety. Nothing else will really deter them, so you would be going to a lot of effort to accomplish nothing but pleasing Satan.
Really, if someone goes out of their way to disregard Christian preachers and preaching, what is he saying about himself?
(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos... “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

How How about this:
About six years before I was born, my father was miserable, he was having a hard time being a good dad, he didn't know what to do, and for the first time in his life, he prayed for Heavenly Father to help him and his family.
The next day the mormon missionaries came to my parent's door. My mom sent my dad to the door to get rid of them, but they had message about family home evening as a way to help families, my dad saw an answer to his prayers and let them in.
He became a changed man, stopped smoking, stopped disciplining through physical force, he became a real father that his children could easily love.
Now (thirty years later) my parents are serving as a retired couple missionaries in Canada.
Yeah, I think that one's my favorite.
best wishes.

I was at my grandmas one weekend with both of my brothers, and it was rather late in the day - in fact it was dark out. My grandma saw them coming down the street so she turned the lights out and we all sat on the floor of the kitchen waiting for them to leave, my youngest brother who was about 5 at the time went over to the refrigerator and opened the door shining the light right out the window. The next thing we know they are knocking on the window yelling that they could see us.

This one is actually true (I think some may be embelished a bit):
My friend's dad saw them coming one day and went in and got a beer out of the refrigerator. He went outside and sat there in a lawn chair with his shirt off. When they approached him and started talking he said, "Would you boys like a beer?" Of course they said no thank you. Then he said "Well then, you may as well just turn around and go back to where you came from. I am an athiest, and I only listen to people preaching if they are drunk." They left.
