Are you really looking to be enlightened or just a way of reinforcing you denial of something that is really good for the world as a whole.
You don't need to believe anything at all, you certainly have the free will that your creator gave you, and that is even the denial of any good that a religion might bring to civilizations. I will admit to you that religions can cause a lot of confusion and mis understandings. But faith is another word, and another concept that one need not confuse with religion with is a doctrine of man of the word of God. Faith is truly something that all mankind needs for without it there would be a world in chaos and completely out of control. A world in which we could not and cannot imagine.
I doubt that you can be enlightened, but I can say this, you will find the truth sooner of later, here or after, you will and wont you be surprised!!!

I don't believe in a religion. I believe in a God. I believe in spirituality. I'm a Christian. Being a Christian is a set of beliefs and a way of life. It's not what you do, it's who you are. The Bible specifically says that you cannot get to heaven by works alone. Religion is the works part. It's the physical part. But dont get me wrong. The book of James says that faith without works is dead (if your husband tells you he loves you but that's all he does -no hugs, kisses, no show of devotion- would you think that he really loves you? Same with faith). I believe what I do because there are 6 times in my life that I should not be around. The first was conception. My parents didn't want me and were a few days away from seperating when they got pregnant. The other five were in my life where God has saved me from death. I'm a very logical thinker and I've done research. There is a lot of proof out there for the Bible and Christianity. You just have to want to find it and then you will find it.
The thing about faith is that everyone has faith. An athiest has faith that there is no God. Everyone has faith in history, or at least what it tells us about itself. Did you know that there are only 4 manuscripts that talk about Alexander the Great? And that the earliest one was written 400 years AFTER his death? We have to have faith that those four manuscripts are telling us the truth. We have to have faith that there was a man named Plato. In fact, there are only 7 manuscripts that talk about him and his theries. Did you know that there are over 24,000 known manuscripts of the New Testement? The oldest one was written around 90 AD, only 60 years after Jesus' death. There would've been witnesses around that would've rebuked that manuscript if it was false. The witnesses to Christ didn't rebuke it therefore what it says it true. And when I mean witnesses, I'm talking thousands upon thousands. There were over 500 witnesses that saw Him after He died. I'm sure that a good chunk of those 500 witnesses were still alive when that manuscript was written down.
The only difference between my faith and yours is that I have faith that something (God) exists and you have faith that something doesn't exist.

I've very little use for organized religions. I am a reverent agnostic and a deist. Faith is not a religion, faith is a state of belief.
Faith comes from a relationship with a power greater then yourself and while religions of all kinds seem bent on telling us how and what to believe the fact is, faith is as individual as a grain of sand. The road to faith is a broad highway and not the "eye of a needle" as some religions would have you believe.

I believe in Jesus. Religion as a whole I am a little skeptical of. I find too many variations and lots of paganism interwoven in doctrines of some "Christian" religions. I believe Jesus died on the cross for the worlds transgressions and that he was buried and rose on the 3rd day just as he said he would. I think that is enough for myself. I believe in do unto others as you would have them do to you. I believe in forgiveness and tolerance. I believe it should not be so hard to have faith and not be persecuted for it.

Of course people actually believe it, why would they go to church, or pray, or do any of that if they didn't?
It's okay if it's hard for you to get your head around the idea, maybe all you've seen is the bad press of controlling religions, and maybe all the influences in your life that you trust, tell you it's unreal. (parents, friends, school, books, TV, your own gut instinct, ect).
So what if all the influences in your life that you did trust told you it was real? What if they told you it was worth every prayer, and act of faith? If you can begin to imagine that, then I think you'll be able to begin to understand it.
best wishes.

What religion are you referring to? This isn't a very good question.
The big world religions are Atheism, Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism. Which one?
If you want to be enlightened about religion, look into taking a "World Religions" class at a local community college.

they have self assurance in absolute rubbish for a plethora of motives. For one, they have been stated from a very youthful age (on the comparable time that they've self assurance in Santa Claus and the the teeth fairy) believing that there is an infallible deity which will punish them for any insolence or deviation. This god is inescapable, everywhere is this gods jurisdiction. additionally, theory in god might properly be eye-catching. human beings will continuously take a comforting lie over an unsightly actuality. they have self assurance in heaven and what no longer no longer by using evidence, yet by using usefulness and sufficiency of it. i might desire to bypass on and on; however the main factor is that as long as guy is terrified of dying, and desires rapid and undemanding convenience, they are going to proceed to allure to close to to fallacies and falsehoods inspite of evidence.

If you study history and eschatology then there is really not much faith necessary for believing if you ask me. Trust me not everyone follows religion out of blind faith. I would suggest you rethink your beliefs but keep your curiosity and skepticism with you they may guide you to the truth.

Belief systems whether religious or not are just that....no empirical evidence truly helps either Deist or non-Deist.......
Many on both sides do not use that as their starting point but it is true
Our world cries out for explanation.....How did we get here ?
Was there a first source
The argument from design has always seem so logical to me, while a stapler might has just arrived on the planet.....it is more logical in my mind to believe it is the product of intelligent design
The intricacies of the universe could have evolved by chance...I can't disproof it...just to me it has always seems more logical that it was designed
Whether this designer is benevolent or not......does he or she choose to communicate......
While there are presuppositions....Christianity makes sense to me......along with the subjective reality of " Christian experience in relationship to this creator God
All belief systems has presuppositions....Christians only ask that you give us ours if you want the right to yours
