How do you feel our faith of Christianity is being depicted on here and in the world? Can you tell when you meet someone new if there a christian? Because I cant tell the difference between the world and the so called christians of today?

I come here for Bible study not to convert anyone. I am a firm believer that you cant convert someone they have to find God for themselves.

For those of you saying that christians are flawed and will commit sin. Thats neither here nor there. A true christian will not just try to obstain from sin. But dress modestly and act modestly. A true christian isnt going to sin everyday thinking Oh its all good cause im saved. SORRY. For those of you thinking that is living a true christian life you are sorley mistaken. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Bold statement yet true. We are supposed to be different. God called us to be like this many times in the bible. Jesus said that you would know them by their fruit (matt 7). Many will come to him on the day of judgement and say, "lord, lord did I not do many great things in your name?" and Jesus will reply, "Away from me, you worker of iniquity. I never knew you." You see, many think that they know him, yet they don't.
So, how do you get to know him? Get into the bible every stinkin' day. It makes it more difficult to deceive someone in the word daily, cuz they're relationship with Jesus gets strengthened and that person will know what Jesus would say and what he wouldn't. They would know what is being taken out of context (which is the most frequent mistakes made, even by christians).
... you'll know them by their fruit.

Okay.....
What is the difference between a Christian (a TRUE one) and the rest of the world?
They aren't mean anymore? No
They don't smoke or drink? No.
They don't obey traffic laws? No.
They don't have to worry about God turning them away on Judgement Day because they are saved? BINGO!!!
Christians are still human and subject to committing the same sins, having the same hardships, and ultimately dying in the same way as everyone else. Works alone do not save you, thank the Lord, because if they did, NO-ONE would make it. Understand, just as in life, there are those who do worse than others. A true Christian will ask for forgiveness from the Lord (no man can forgive your sins i.e., the roman catholic church), and try to do better. Some of us fall off the path and really walk down the wrong road, but one thing is for sure, we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. If anyone hasn't and professes to be a true Christian, they are not.

Christians are flawed humans just like everybody else in the world. So I don't think you'd be able to distinguish whether or not they are Christian based on how they look or if you just barely meet them. However as a Christian I realize my faults and I know for sure that I'm not perfect. But that shouldn't stop me from trying to Christ-like in my actions and the especially the way I treat another person. I'm not going to shove a bible in someones face and yell "BELIEVE OR FACE THE FIRES OF HELL!" No, I'm going to treat them the way I would have wanted to be treated (I wonder where I heard that from?). Take care, and God bless Ã

It's sad but true, and it's not just today,
Paul told christian wifes to act as christian wifes so that the word of God may not be spoken of abusively. (Titus 2:5)
Peter also said that false prophets and false teachers would disown their owner (Christ) and because of them the truth would be spoken of abusively. (2 Pet 2:1-3)
Jesus even said that false christians would be common until the end (Matt 13:25-30 weeds and the wheat)
Paul said the end wouldn't come till the great apostasy came. (c. 400 A.D.)
It is because of the great apostasy that many non christians refuse to accept the bible and it's teachings.
This why finding out what the 1st centruy christian believed is vitial for finding the truth.

For a lot of self professing Christians yes this is true. But I think it's really easy to spot the ones that are actively seeking the Lord. Maybe it's not as easy as walking down the street and labeling people as they walk by you, but even after a short conversation with a person you can really tell the direction of their heart.
That's what I've noticed any ways... maybe I'm just a good guesser.

Kindly make some efforts also pray deeply that the brother Christians agree on One Bible, one fundamental set of basic Beliefs, live the spiritual aspects, give lesser importance to dogmas, and let 'others' live with self esteem. Frithjof Schuon, the celebrated author has written about 'almost all' religions after personally experiencing their spirituality. Marin Lings is another great author to write on Sufism.
This world is a heaven due to authors like them.

Well, I didn't know there was so little tolerance to Christianity, even in the states. People accept the vilest things and call it tolerance, but immediately attack Christianity. Almost all the cults are accepted and no one has a problem with mormons, buddhists, jehovahs witnesses, chuch of Christ, & catholicism. But as soon as people start to talk about Christianity, there is always a backlash.

your right that you can't convert someone , but in
the parable of the sower ( LUKE 8 verses 11-18)
it says we shall plant a harvest, meaning we should tell
others about God/Jesus & how to get salvation.
we may not be the ones to see the harvest, when it's done, but we may be the ones to start it !
If no one ever tells a nonbeliever about what Jesus did
for them then how will they ever have a chance to
become saved ?
It can't hurt to tell someone about Jesus, but it can
hurt them a lot if we don't. It's up to them if
they want to believe or not.
a great play about this is Heaven's Gates Hell's doors &
a good web site is WWW.WAYOFTHEMASTER.COM
hope this info. helps

I am a Christian and I can tell who is a christian and who isn't. Christians have a way of connecting with others and are led by the Lord from within themselves. You can tell when you watch and listen to someone if they are a Christian or not.

I am very disappointed by Christians and the Christian churches. It is as if they largely don't believe in unity like Jesus preached or turn the other cheek and so on and so forth. I have met allot of people who claim to be christian whom there was no evidence in their lives to support the claim. In fact I know only 3 whom you could by their lives.
