what I cant understand is how many of you are making comment on how bad the middle east is without actually being there? You can not compare 2 countries without first expereincing them both. OK lets go for an un-biased opinion here, (neither from the states or the middle east) seems only fair;
I have been to both and I do not find the middle east decadent, I do not find them unwelcoming, I do not find them un-educated, I find americans rude, ignorant, self centered and plane arrogant.
If I had a choice over these 2 countires I would hands down pick the middle east.

I don't know too many Americans that are secret about their opinion. They are not persecuted as they would be in certian countries. The first amendment is a great thing. I don't agree with everything the government does, but if I thought there was a better country to live in, I would go and live there.

America is capitalism at its best AND at its worst, but its America, the greatest counrty in this world, and I'm grateful to live here. It's funny to see muslims clamoring to get into this country, then immediately start using their american right to free speech to complain about its 'decadence.' They don't seem to mind taking welfare money, medicaid money, free pell grant money for college, business tax immuity or a hundred other government programs that american taxpayers are subdizing, so i guess that's why they come over here - for all the free money.They can't stand americans, but our money is another story.

Which view are you referring to? That all infidels should be killed? As for decadent country I'm assuming you mean a decent country and yes, I do think I come from a decent country. We certainly have our share of problems but I'll take those over living in an oppressive Arab country any day of the week.

I don't hate my country, but there are a lot of things about it right now that make me really sad and frustrated. I think a lot of the complaints that Muslims have against our country are legitimate. Of course, I don't think terrorism is the answer to those problems, but then again, I don't think most Muslims think that either.
