Who would win in a fight? Iran? or Israel? that is without the U.S.?

i think iran may win, because their army is like 11 million people. and they have 52,000 suicide bombers. israel only has 7,000,000 people and 500,000 of them serve in the military. If America joined the israelis then iran may have Russia, because they don't like israel. or maybe China, because they are addicted to oil.

what if islam was right?. Allah comes down and helps iran. that would be crazy

First off, the Iranian military has about 500,000 members, not 11 million. The Israeli military is about 180,000, plus reserves that are trained on a regular basis.

Iran has made great strides in the last 10 years. They now have heavy industry capable of refurbishing and modernizing their Russian supplied tanks, mostly T-72's and T-90's. They are even developing a tank of their own, but details are hard to come by.

Iran does have some medium range missiles in development, but most parties agree they do not possess warheads for them. Perhaps 5 years down the road they can put a 1st generation warhead together, but nothing approaching a MIRV capability.

Even if Iran did have a convential warhead to put on a missile that could reach Israel, keep in mind that Israel has developed the "Arrow" ABM system and has a good number of Patriot missile batteries as well. It is doubtful an Iranian missile could hit Israel without being intercepted.

As far as an airstrike, Israel has an excellent radar defence system, coupled with a sizable SAM network and modern fighter interceptors. Iran would not likely choose this path either.

Iran does have several Kilo class submarines which could be used against the Israeli navy and other shipping, but no one thinks they have submarine launched missiles to launch.

In a nutshell, Iran has a military quite capable of defending Iran, but they cannot project power to any great degree. I doubt they would be able to wage an effective war against Israel.

My personal opinion is that Israel would win a conventional war against Iran mainly due to superior training and weapons systems. Not to mention that Israel has been fighting on and off for decades so they have a fair degree of experience in modern war. As to suicide bombers I cant see them being more than a nuisance in a major war, they would never get close enough to a stratigic target to do any real harm. As to other countries joining either Israel or Iran that would depend on the political/stratigic and economic situation at the time.

Israel. One thing no one seems to understand or appreciate is that the Israeli Army is a professional, well trained and disciplined army built along the same lines as western armies. That is a HUGE advantage that the Arab armies just haven't been able to match yet. The Arabs fight hard and valiantly, no one is saying they aren't brave in battle but they lack the discipline and training that western armies and Israel posses. Throw in the fact and that they have better weapons and technology and numbers just don't matter as much as they once did.

Though the arab countries are progressing in military complexity, I still think Israel would beat Iran one-on-one. I don't think suicide bombers are much of an issue in an actual war. Suicide bombing is about pretending to be a civilian or taking advantage of a semi-peaceful situation to get close to a target. In an actual war, they shoot you on sight.

Israel's technology rivals that of the U.S.. In a full scale glove off conflict Iran would be annihilated in short order. While there would still be the constant idiot bomber attacks there would be little left of Iran to see it.
