I'm of mixed race and always choose the other box. It doesn't really help the school keep track, but eventually they'll catch on and let you pick more than one. Otherwise, pick hispanic. There may be scholarships or programs targeted towards minorities or something.

Puerto Rico and Guatemala are not races, they are countries.
Your son cannot be white Puerto Rican and Guatemalan. What is that a mutant race?
If he is mixed, that makes him a person of color who most likely speaks Spanish and in the USA, he is HISPANIC.
If we keep falling for these labels about white this and that, all we people of color do is continue to allow ourselves to be divided and conquered.
This reminds of me of an incident I had some 12 years ago. An old girlfriend and I were having drinks when a male friend of mine ran into us. She is very beautiful and so he was interested in asking her out and told me so. Upon telling her of his interest and comment which was "who is this beautiful sister", (I am black or a person of color) my girlfriend who is several shades darker than me (yes, I have a Caucasian father) became incensed because he has referred to her as a 'sister' meaning a black woman. According to her she was Puerto Rican! I just couldn't believe the nonsense of this foolish woman. Needless to say I had a few choice words for her. She didn't get it because she resorted to tell me that I was a fool for not taking advantage of my very light skin. Like I said "divide and conquer".

The correct answer is Hispanic. Because the whole point of the question is to track the minority ethnicity in the school. They don't really want to know if someone has a Caucasian decent.

you're for sure insecure and are hoping white ladies are as jealous and keen about you as you're of them. such an excellent number of black human beings those days (no longer all although) have this fixation with white human beings's seems even as white human beings do not imagine about you as intensely in any respect. And lol @ y'all attempting to crap on ladies as an complete so that you'll sense more beneficial positive. adult men are notoriously jealous creatures yet in worry-free words women are hated for this.

Putting down Hispanic is the correct reply. Let others wonder why and ask, if they feel the need to do so.
