I have filed my H1b Visa petition a while ago and a week ago I received an email saying that some more additional evidences are required to process my petition. (However, I am yet to receive the notice.) As far as I know, I had submitted all the required evidences. Does any one know (1) what sort of additional evidences do they ask for & (2) will it delay the case approval further?

The information requested will be contained in the notice. They can ask for anything and usually just want clarification of information provided or explanations of any gaps status or updated pay stubs in the case of a transfer.......don't panic 'til you get the notice...

There are many reasons that they can be asking for additional evidence. You will need to wait to get the notice requesting the specific additional evidence. If you do not get an additional letter regarding what specifically they need, contact the embassy.
