i know my great grandfather served in the US military during WWII, but thats all i know. where do i go to figure out what his unit was, where he was serving, and all that other stuff?

All of the older records are kept in St. Louis I believe. I'm not sure how you would go about contacting the office where his records actually are, but I bet if you go into an army recruiting office, they can point you in the right direction, good luck!
