Animals tend to be very intuitive as to the feelings of their owners. Cats seems to be especially "tuned in". I'm sure he does sense that your upset and concerned for him. Knowing that you're concerned will help him...it's like when we're sick, having loved ones care for us makes us feel better to some extent. Keep giving him lots of love and attention, and hopefully it will help the rest of him heal. :)
To those of you who are ridiculing the woman asking this question...you really are clueless and need to layoff. She is one of the rare owners on here who turned to us for ideas AFTER talking to the vet. She's not on here to replace the vet, she's here because the vet is stumped and she cares deeply for her cat!

did your vet check his digestive tract? I have a cat that had gotten very sick, he wasn't eating or going to the bathroom and was drinking very little water. Now this is the GROSS Part one night I heard him in his litter box and went to check on him Now this is the part that's hard to believe. You know those little plastic suction cup darts for kids pop guns. YES he was pooping the thing out!!! A couple of days later he was back to his old self. Vet could not figure out how he had swallowed it hole and not choked but it made it in one end and out the other! Good luck with your cat!!

Of course he knows he feels sick! Any animal can feel pain and discomfort. He can feel how nice it is when you pet him, so why would he not be able to feel pain?
If you have tried everything then it is time to see a vet, try to find that works only with cats if possible.

Have you recently got a new pet or a roommate, a cat will sometimes lick his fur out if he is nervous or if something in his life has changed dramatically, as for the constipation there are some oils you can give your cat, try a teaspoon or so of just vegetable oil mixed in with his food, also give him wet food for just a while, there may be something in his dry food causing the problem

when i was very young i had a sick cat, we went to the same vet, over and over and over. Like you they said they couldnt find what was wrong with her...eventually my dad changed to a different vet and they found what was wrong with her instantly...by then it was too late, she had very bad kidney problems...i was reading your past questions i do think you should get a second opinion, some docs are out for money, some really love animals and want to help...ask friends & neigbors what vet they use, or even try going into a pet shop and tell them your situation and who they recommend...hope you find whats wrong with your baby!

get your cat to the vet if he is sick! I'm sure he does know he feels crudey and you are not helping the situation, just making it worse. Irresponsable cat owner!
