It might be helpful for your sister to think about why she doesn't want to see that person anymore. (i.e. if there's something the therapist is/isn't doing that bothers or frustrates her, if she feels she made enough progress to stop, etc.) Many people have an urge to quit therapy when starts getting "heavy". Talking about what's bothering her might be helpful for her. If she's too nervous to say it in session, she could also write it down and give it to the therapist.

The therapist is working for your sister, and if she doesn't find it helpful, and it can't be worked through with the therapist, by all means, find a new one.

1) Just call and say thank you but I haven gotten everything I'm going to get from you and I need to move on now.

OR

2) Call after hours and leave a message and say as above.

OR

3) Just stop going

But if you choose 2 or 3 then make sure you have an appointment scheduled with another councilor already cus you have problems you still need to discuss.

The word is Councilor and If she is paying her she can end her service. If it's through a school or authorized somehow she may have to be dismissed as healthy.
