The Bible does not say that the earth is 6000 years old, anywhere. Where do you get your information from? Also, what record says that civilization started near pakistan? Are you nuts? You must be. Mesopotamia. Look it up. It's between the tigris and euphrates rivers. Get a clue dude.

I don't believe the Bible to be an accurate and actual time line for the history of the earth. She is obviously more than 6,000 years old. I believe that Genesis is an over-simplified version of events set forth by a God that seeded this planet with life, not human beings, but life that would eventually evolve into human beings.

Acually the number is more about 5,000 and only the fundamentalist christians believe this. In case someone doesn't know what that is, it means that they believe literally word for word everything the bible literally says. They don't believe in symbolism at all. Symbolically a day to God may be millions of years to us for one example. Another symbol is the number three. If you notice through out the bible that number or multiples of that number show up. The bible should not be taken literally.

The Bible says no such thing. There are gaps in the genealogy and we do not know how long Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden. The age at which Adam died represents the number of years he live after he and Eve were cast out of the garden.

The bible does not say the earth is 6,000. Bishop Ussher in the 19th century used the biblical geneologies to somehow 'figger' out that the earth is 6,000. Anyway Bishop Ussher was wrong. If he were alive today, he would have admitted his error since he was a wise & intelligent man, unlike modern creationists.

I am a Christian, but I don't actually believe that civilization is just 6,000 years old. The Bible is a book of faith, not a scientific textbook.
