I heard from an FBI friend/contact that the wall they are thinking of constructing between the US and Mexico is not for illegal workers so much as to stem the tide of Arabic terrorists walking across also (the term used was "bleeding terrorists"). Allegedly they have found many booklets in Arabic telling how to appear Mexican, and teaching some phrases in Spanish, along with abandoned Qur'ans in the deserts of Arizona. How likely do you think this really is? Or do you think this is what FBI agents are being told, as they are not taught to question their sources?

Al-qaeda and other fanatical groups are not looking to imitate Mexicans they are actively recruiting them (along with persons in other central american countries) to join their movement. The target poor, unemployed people and fill their head with their dogma.

The terrorists believe in laying low, so abandoning the Qurans in the desert along with other documentation is uncharacteristic of them. If anything it sounds like a ruse, if its true.

As far as closing the border is concerned if we do the Mexican one we have to so something with the Canadian border. Although the southern border is more popular with for illegal workers, terrorists are as likely to use the northern frontier. Many asian illegals chose this route, as do Mexicans who get the easier to obtain Canadian visa.

Oh yeah, FBI agents are trained TO question their sources. They investigate, not acccept things at face value.

Actually, this is NO secret. Even the left-wing TV medium has ran features on the fact that the Islamists have strong ties in South and Central America. Which is odd, as the terrorist have no use for anyone of a different color than they, or of a different belief system. Why do you think so much PURE heroin is coming into the U.S. of A. so cheap? It really doesn't matter what the FBI think. If you read the 911 commission report they put a high priority on securing the boarder because they found evidence that terrorist enter this country via both our northern and southern boarders.

well... i have no way of knowing if that is true or not.

i have to wonder though, how many people do you want to be afraid of? you can imagine every single person at your office or school is a terrorist, just waiting for orders. i am not sure if that is true or not, but how would you ever know for certain?

you can't.

so i refuse to care. i am not afraid of the countless mexicans here. i don't think it would be worthwhile to round them all up and deport them. and i have no way of knowing how many terrorists came over with them. i remind myself that the terrorists on flight 93 were stopped by people who chose not to go quietly.

if i see a chance to be a hero, i will take it. but i don't wish to make this country into a police state, simply because some people might mean us harm. we have always had enemies. i want to fight them without losing america.

Don't know...could be either, quite frankly. FBI is hardly the most trustworthy organization around.
But we need a wall and STRICT enforcement to keep both illegal aliens and potential terrorists out....so does it really matter? If we'd get serious about protecting our national sovereignty, I wouldn't care if the agents were lied to or not...
