You use airbrush enamel paints and don't forget to use varnish when you are done.

Only use water-based paint (such as acrylics) as these will not damage the plastic of the helmet, which would otherwise render it useless. Do not use any petroleum based products on your helmet (to paint or clean) it will destroy the plastic of your helmet.

I use Createx Auto Air and clear coat afterwords. Before I paint it I buff the original paint and prime it if I am repainting the whole thing. Using auto paint can work but the Auto air system give you more control over opacity.

I've used the enamel paints found in small craft bottles to spice up my biker buckets. You could also sprinkle glitter on whatever you write or draw and it looks iridescent at night.
