I think it only matters whether you book two weeks in advance or not. Once you've passed that two-week threshold, I don't think the price will increase. Very unlikely.
If you are certain about it not overselling, you can get a discount fare by opting to fly standby, but you are taking a risk of being bumped to a subsequent flight if there is no room.

Of course airfare prices change because the airlines change prices almost daily. Didn't you know that????
Generally, you can get good prices if you buy 2 weeks in advance. The closer you get to departure, the higher the prices.

The ticket can change any day. Its and automatic computer program that determines how many seats at what price- They tend to go up closer, but not always on an empty plane.
