Hi, We have a 4 year old Indian Ringneck and a 1 1/2 year old cockatiel. We're moving into a house and would love to havea dog. Can anyone recommend what types of dogs are okay to have with birds?

I'd stay away from a Jack Russell, but any dog you get you will have to train. I would suggest a smaller more docile type, that is easily trained.
You might want to post this in the section under "Dogs".

You will find that most types of dogs can be trained to live with with pet birds so long as the birds are kept in a cage BUT never ever ever leave them alone together especially with the bird out of its cage or the bird will probably come off second best. Dogs cant resist anything that flutters unfortunately.

As long as you are patient and willing to train your dog, any dog can be trained to live with birds. But never, ever trust them alone together while you are not in the room, no matter how well trained your dog is. We have a Westie who has a large prey drive but he basically ignores the bird and doesn't want anything to do with it.
