First off, if you mother hates dogs and you still live with her, it probably isn't a good idea to get a dog even if you've gotten her to "give in." It is going to be a very stressful situation on everyone in the household, and not fair to the dog. When you bring an animal into your home it is a lifetime commitment--even if mom gets upset for an accident on the carpet.

Also, puppies are very, very expensive, not only to purchase, but for the rest of their lifetime as well. A yorkie that small to begin with will be very expensive--probably no less than $600 from a reputable breeder. On top of that, there will be the spaying/neutering cost, 3-4 rounds of puppy vaccinations, a rabies vaccination, and all of the puppy supplies you'll need to start out with. It's not unusual for a new puppy owner to spend more than $1000 in the first year just on supplies, food, training, and vet bills.

Since you're still living at home, are you old enough or have enough time to work the hours needed to pay for these expenses? If you move out, can you afford to pay your rent, pet deposit and pet rent, and for all of the annual costs? Will you be going to college in a few years? If so, who will take care of the dog then when your mother does not like dogs? A reputable breeder will ask you these questions and have you sign a contract stating that you will be able to care for the dog in an appropriate fashion for as long as it lives.

A dog is not a plaything--it is a living, breathing creature that will need a lifetime commitment. Make sure that this is something that you can completely commit to before you jump in with both feet.

If your mother hates dogs, it is not a good idea to have a dog in your home. Not only will you need to buy the dog, it will need ongoing veterinary care. Yorkies are not easy to train and they need a lot of attention. They have to be brushed daily and are very high maintenance dogs.

You won't get them that cheap. Yorkies are really expensive. I got mine for $625 and she's a normal yorkie. If you want a miniature yorkie like it says, then that will be even more expensive.

Good luck with that. Yorkies are trendy now so even the cheap ones are like $800
