I don't see any atheist being held back from the luxury of his or her opinions on this venue. You also need to realize that there are a number of Christian pretenders on this site. Most generally they are obstinant, rude and foul mouthed.
Besides pretend Christians, you have subscriber Christians. These belong to church clubs and have their beliefs on 3x5 cue cards handed out by their priest, minister or other religious iman.
It is generally the subscribers, in all religions, who have the "convert the world card" ready to hand out.
Also realize that every human being believes that what they think has more validity; otherwise they wouldn't believe what they believe--The Catch 22 of human reason! Many Christians and atheists don't admit to being in this boat.
In a very real sense Christianity is only passing on the life of Christ. If you don't have that life all you can pass on to others are your puny ideas, however correct they might be.
So in a sense I agree with your last statement that one belief is no more valid than another. A belief is a belief is a belief. We use the same brain networks to make our connections.
You believe that there is no God. I believe that there is. We both believe and we both have reasons for our belief. But, our belief also has a directional factor. Belief points us in a direction and that direction results in action.
For Christians the Bible says, even the devil believes! If belief were all that is necessary then the devil would be a Christian right now!!!
I am sorry that people, who claim to be Christians, have left you with so many bad impressions. They are certainly not doing God any service. I will consider your questions.
Oh, don't forget, there are some pretend atheists on this venue; here just to dump their venom.

Basically people have their own view and beliefs, and each have already set their mind on believing it with some stubborness involved. Religion is blind faith and it can never be proved right or wrong so whats the point of arguing anyway. Atheist, Christians, Muslims and all other religions are all guilty of that so all are guilty of being arrogant e.g. I could say turn it around and say 'Why do atheist feel they have thr right to say that their belief have more validity than mine' You just did it thru this question.
But its nice to know that Christians are perceived as righteous :)

As a saved christian I am commanded by God to tell others how to know that they will go to heaven. I am not better than you, I am not worse than you. We simply have different beliefs. As for the responses you have been given to your questions, there could be two reasons for that. It could be the fact that they are new to their beliefs and do not know what else to say or it could be because they themselves do not study their beliefs enough to know how to answer your question.
If I tell someone my beliefs, they have the option to either accept or reject it. If they reject it, I have to respect their decision even though I do not agree. Believe me when I say that it breaks my heart when people reject it. Because I know that my belief in Jesus Christ is real. I believe that heaven and hell are real. I know what will happen to peope who don't believe. But,I am not beligerent, nasty or rude. I am a testimony of my faith. If I am hateful or demeaning to someone, then what does that tell them about my faith? I always remember that everyone has the same free will that I do and had when I was saved.
Now my question is......." if I'm wrong and you are right, when I die, then I just die.... My body rots in the ground for all eternity. But, if you are wrong and I am right..... then what?"

Please do not take this the wrong way, but what in the world is your point? I am not going to lie about my faith, and yes I know I am right, but what are the issues you are asking or debating with them? You should try to give more od an example of what you are trying to prove here. ONE good reason why we have knowledge about the bible and truth is that, not one person has been able to disprove the bible. Many who are not christians have tried; historians have tried but ran into artifacts that proved them wrong, scientist have examined the universe and found that there is not one point of "begining" rather a "string" theory for creation that leads to The Creator, etc. I can go on but I do not want to seem arogant.
Those who are acting arogant are not being the examples our Father, wants us to be. I can understand your frustrations with those who act "holier than thou", but you have to remember, we are all human and make mistakes. We are holier, but we are to show humility and the grace of God towards you. Whether we disagree, they are right when they say we will all find out in the end. We will all die. It is our choice were we plan to stay.
I am far from being closed minded, I am well educated in this world. Coming from a colorful background, the Christian faith is the one that has yet to be unproven. I will pray that you will meet those who will justify their faith properly, in the way God wants us to, no to meet what man's desire. Our bible gives us the right to say what we believe, as well as our consitution. In fact our bible, stated by Jesus Christ, tells us we MUST share our faith, BUT we have to be ready to defend it with the proper backing.

I'm sure you have also been told that Satan has blinded the minds of unbelievers.
There are 2 sides to almost every issue.
Just as there are the consequences and blessings for our actions.
We take credit when things go right and blame God when things go wrong.
When the great tribulation starts, then all those who believe or choose not to believe in God, will be hoping and praying they are on the right side of the issue over universal sovereignty.

Why do non-Christians get so upset at Christians for believing in something? Just because a Christian believes in God and believes every other faith (or lack thereof) is wrong, what's wrong with that?
If you believe 100% that Bush is the best president we've ever elected(snicker), should you be expected to believe that someone who says Reagan is the best president ever - is also 100% correct? Isn't that impossible, or considered to be two-faced? Would you get upset to hear someone disagree about that and say you're wrong? Would you be so upset to get on Yahoo! Answers and rant about it?

i am a christian but i dont think u should be forced to convert or be told that you are wrong. you have your own beliefs and i have mind but why get mad when someone says God works in mysterious ways? thats like getting mad at a muslim for saying May Allah keep you safe. i think you have been talking to a small sample of christians because not all christans are that arogant or closed minded. would u get mad at someone for saying "God bless"? they have just as much right saying that as you do to say whatever you want to say. they tell you that u will find out when you die because that is what they believe..

God does work in mysterious ways . I think the fact that you are protesting so much- just might mean that you have not convinced yourself of your "beliefs". Whatever the case-why argue? So, you have your own beliefs ; so what ? Likewise , maybe those people you confront just don't want to hear it anymore .Could it be- that athiests ( such as yourself ) , have so much anger and hate in them - when it comes to their athiest beliefs-that it's not only the belief turning people off-but the negativity as well ? I've never seen a happy athiest .

One of the things that it sounds like is happening to you is that God is trying to get your attention. Whether you believe in Him or not really doesn't diminish the fact that He exists.
I'm very sorry that you feel your answers are less than fulfilling. It is a hard thing trying to explain faith to someone who has a different kind of faith (and in my mind - it's much tougher to believe that there is no God than to know that there is).
Perhaps the main thing to understand is that God left information for every human being that has ever lived that He in fact does exist - it's called The Bible, and it is His holy and inspired Word.
I'll definitely pray for you, and wish you well.

You obviously know that the people you are ranting about are not going to change their minds so why do you keep ranting?
To each his own. Why do you feel you need to advertise the fact that you are an aethiest? If you believe in nothing then keep it to yourself and let others believe as they wish. They should do the same and if they don't, just walk the F**K away.
Why is this so hard to do?
