I weigh 230lbs, so 3-4 beers shouldn't do this to me. Even if I drank them in an hour. I don't have the same effects with wine, or liquor and can drink both until quite drunk with no ill effects. I'm guessing its some kind of allergy, but I don't get rashes, stuffy nose, hives, or other typical allergy symptoms, I just go into purge mode. It's like beer acts very strongly in my system as if each beer was worth 2 - 3 beers. Also, I have no other medical conditions and am perfectly health otherwise. My only other known allergy is bananas.

Let me clarify. I'm not asking for advice to "stay away from beer" (yeah I got that) or advice to "stop drinking". I'm asking if anyone has a clue WHY it happens. allergies are the best guess at this point. Any MDs in the crowd?

Is this with all beers? Drink a different beer each time. If still affected, then you're probably allergic to the hops in beer. Sometimes people get over their allergy over time. Wait ten years and try again.
Allergy symptoms vary. If you took a bath in beer, you might break out in hives.

Probably an allergy or just a sensitivity to something in it. I get a massive headache with a glass of wine. Just because there's no rash or hives doesn't mean your not allergic. Just stick to the hard stuff :)

you might be allergic to wheat or hops....for which beer is made out of and liquor and wine aren't made of. You don't have to get rashes or stuffy noses to get allegies, it can be any kind of negative reaction that your body has to something. You should probably just not drink it if your body rejects it...it might be ok for someone else, but poison to yourself.

do u feel drunk after 3-4? like wobbling and stuff or just sick? if u feel drunk..either way, it shouldnt happen, and it must be something in ur body that does not react to something in beer that is not in other types of alcohol..i personally get a very blotchy face when i drink beer...but i still got 12 deep and become a stumbling bumbling fool...good luck

I only know one person who is allergic to beer. But she gets a rash on her neck. she said it's the yeast. I would suggest finding something else to drink if your going to drink.

Sounds like you're allergic. I would just stay away from the beer and stick to the other types of alcohol you can drink.

You could be allergic to an ingredient in the beer. Otherwise, stop putting nanners in your beverage.

yet then you awaken with the sore head the fellow who takes one beer does no longer. i'm continually suspicious of a guy who merely beverages one pint at a bar I continually sense he has a hidden time table. yet then per chance hes driving and doesn't opt to be over the decrease.

Abstain from beer. You are allergic to something in it. Consider this a blessing, not a curse.

I'm not sure what it is. I'm the same way with clear liquors. You just learn to stay away for them.
