They shut down once a month and two weeks a year when the staff has to go to national guard work in Iraq or Afganistan or even the border, but not New Orleans.
But then again I did see this one 7-11 where they would do a happy money dance at midnight. They lock the door for 5 minutes. They turn off the lights, but you can still see them dancing with money in their hands.
And then those 7-11's with gas stations, sometimes the guy has to go put the hose back on the machine after someone tried to drive away with it still attached to their car. They always lock the door when they have to put the gas hose back together.

If the franchise sells that store to Stop N Shop, the new owner may want locks. Same deal with Denny's.

It's a security measure. A lot of these stores are robbed. Especially at night.
