Do you consider the prophesized events surrounding the end of the world (tribulation, mark or the beast, Anti-Christ, rapture, etc) a vital and central part of your faith?

The only role it plays is to give hope that God wins in the end (which was the book's main purpose when written to a heavily persecuted Church). It does not play a vital role to my faith and it's annoying sometimes when people interpret an obviously symbolic book (Revelation) so literally.

The Parable of the 5 Wise Virgins and the 5 Foolish Virgins answers your question.

The 5 Wise Virgins had enough oil to keep their lamps when the Bridegroom came for the feast.

The 5 Foolish Virgins allowed their oil to run out and they had to purchase oil, missing the arrival of the Bridegroom for the feast.

The Foolish Virgins begged the Bridegroom to let them enter the feast, but the Bridegroom told them to go away and blessed those who were wise and prepared for the arrival of the Bridegroom.

Always be prepared for anything, day in and day out for no one knows when the Bridegroom will return.

It shows how accurate gods word is.Theres no need to doubt because the proof is revealing itself. Seeing these things ,a christian should hold to the word of god, since its the only thing we'll have to be ready for christ second coming. We have to be a part of the great commission, and when warn people of the wrath to come.

The end will happen when we least expect it. Everyone's expecting it, so it probably won't happen anytime soon. Why worry?
