I have been laying on the couch for 3 days now. I cannot kick this illness. I thought it was the flu at first--I had a fever, chills, body aches, etc....but then my throat is VERY swollen--with white pockets on my tonsils. I have a massive headache also. Is there any remedy that I should try? I have been taking vitamins, drinking water, and I have only eatin half a thing of yogurt. It hurts to swallow and just move period. Any suggestions?

The white pockets on your tonsils suggests that you probably have a bacterial throat infection (like strep tonsilitis). The best thing to do is to go to the doctor. If it is strep, and it goes untreated it can affect your heart. If it is a bacterial infection you will be given antibiotics. You will feel better in a couple of days, but you MUST take all of the antibiotics. If you don't it will come back with a vengence, and the antibiotics won't work again.

Go see a doctor.

Head ache has many reasons and all head aches cannot be cured immediately. If you have cold then the head will be persisting and will not be easy to cure it. You can have only temporary relief. For All headaches I take aspirin or paracetamol for immediate relief. If I could avoid it then I do the following. Going for a short walk in the busy street. Doing neck exercises. Apply balms and rub vigorously on the affected areas. Heat the sides of head by keeping a hot cloth. The cloth is heated by iron box, or even by a hot utensil kept over the stove. The same treatment can be carried out by washing the face and neck with hot water.. You will feel fresh and head ache gone. Try any of these methods.

Please don't do the same mistake by letting that health situation go. Sounds like the beginning of epiglotitis. I let the situation go for two weeks, trying to take in pain killers and drinking tea. As it got worse, I could not swallow because the infection spread from my tonsils to my airway and started shutting it down. I couldn't swallow or breathe properly. I was only a few hours from "death" when I was admitted to the hospital and stayed in the ICU for four days. Two weeks afterward, I had surgery to remove my tonsils. Hope everything works out with your health. Take care of it promptly!

There is not much you can do to fix it, but I used to get like that about seven times a year when I was younger. Get some good mint, Chamomile, and peppermint tea. It will help the throat feel better and feels really good on your chest muscle's. I would suggest the sleepy time Bigelow brand. Has the perfect combination of all of them. I hope you feel better. It sounds like you have strep. I would got to the doctor too.

I would go see a doc... It sounds like you have strep or tonsilitis, you will need some anti-biotics to kick this crud.
