The theory of evolution holds that every species of animal life had equal opportunity to evolve into an intelligent being. However, out of the millions of species, only one has reached the level of humans. Why don't we have intelligent bird species? Why haven't other species evolved like humans with wings (they would clearly have advantage over todays foot walking humans). How about, "humans" with eyes on the back of their heads, or smart fish. The theory of evolution which basis itself on random processes does not seem to provide an effective answer that only one intellligent species evolved out of the millions. The rules of probablility and statistics do not support the idea of random mutations as it applies to intelligent humans.

Well, have you taken into consideration that humans express their intelligence in different forms than other species? Take dolphins for example. They have an intricate, complicated way of communication which humans STILL do not understand to this day. Mothers and fathers of animals act the same way to their young offspring as humans do with theirs-- it is only the basics: protecting the offspring and teaching them how to survive in the world they live in. As time passes by, these two differ somewhat, but the bottom line stays the same: we ARE all alike, but we just do not seem like it from our different anatomies.

Also, if we really wanted to- we could interbreed species and force them to create weird creatures. But I think that is all up to the government.

We have millions of different species living on earth right now. According to the evolution theory, we supposebly evolved from one single bacterium. All evolutions and changes did not occur within a second, but rather over a span of 4 million years--the time that Earth has been existence, according to science. So..about your "smart fish" and "humans with eyes on the back of their heads"-- I suggest you watch more medical shows because there are some weird mutations that have occurred in this world. I also think that you will just have to wait until time shows you that fish and other species can evolve intelligently. Or, maybe, they evolved in a way so that they would not need as much intelligence as we do in order to survive. Just think about it-- in order for the average American family to survive, both parents must be working full-time for a family of 2. Updates in technology is a MUST. Think about this: do fish really need that? Do they even care...and if they did need that..what the hell would they do with it?

:)

jointly as i'm no longer likely to disprove your theory approximately Mermaids, i visit assert that your theory of ways evolution works isn't purely right. Evolution is the by made from organic decision. If those mermaids and mermen did no longer could desire to be clever to stay to tell the tale, then they won't be on the conventional very clever. Now given this sort of predators I even have seen on the invention channel contained in the sea, and the relative harmlessness of a human type physique swimming contained in the sea, i'm thinking any merman formed like a human could be sharkbait extraordinarily rapid. i assume i'm asserting i think of there's a ninety 9% UNlikelyhood of this being a possibillity.

Pretty good question.

Someone pointed out about dolphins, etc. I think in regard to some higher mammals - we only gauge their intelligence by our measure.

As for your overall question, the answer is in soul or consciousness evolution. From religion to psychology, I know that our consciousness has 3 parts: lower-subconscious-animal, middle-conscious-human, and upper - superconscious-superhuman. I think our consciousness evolved out of the animal kingdom like our cellular evolution. Back when there were only single cell organisms, the cells were 'born' without mitochondria (powerhouse of the cell). We know mitochondria began as separate entities because they have their own DNA. Then something incredible happened. The main cell changed it's DNA to accommodate creating the mitochondria within it instead having to search for mitochondria externally. These two became one. I see a lot of correlation between our cells and these two soul/consciousness structures. Why the human form of this dual consciousness is the dominate form is dependent on the superconsciousness. The superconsciousness is what our consciousness evolves into.

From simple organisms to the most complex - you could look at our world as a consciousness generator.

No no no no no! Where did you learn science? Of off the back of a cereal box?

Nowhere does it say that we are the end product of evolution. Nowhere does it say that the end product of evolution is to evolve into intelligent beings.

When humans were finding our niche, we had less hair, no claws, no tough skin. We were naked and vulnerable, and we had no where to go but to develop intelligence to adapt in an environment in which so many other animals were superior.

And we are still evolving. Who knows what will happen in another million years?

Oh dear god - pardon the pun

Every animals stops evolving at a certain point. As humans, we built houses, removing the need to evolve thicker coats. We removed predators, therefore no reason to have...ahem... eyes on the back of our heads.

All of these factors that forced us to evolve have been removed - we've pretty muched reached our last step on the evolutionary ladder - minus any mutations (X-MEN hehe) If there is no forced that is pressing on us to change - there will be no change. All that is left is the survival of the fittest. So if for example it is not healthy to be short (sorry short people) they will not be attracted to and COULD die out leaving only taller people to procreate

there are plenty of other intelligent species...

did you know that chimps and gorillas can communicate with humans through learning sign language? did you know that vervet monkeys have langauge?

evolution is NOT based on random processes, or chance...

your whole argument is pretty lacking in knowledge...

where in the Bible does it say we didn't evolve? Since the metaphor "one thousand years to us is like a day to god"> were there 6 LITERAL "days" of creation, or actually billions of years of evolution with God controlling the whole process and written in a metaphorical "6 day" creation story inorder to convey the simplistic view to man 3000 years ago>

you are completely misrepresenting the theory of evolution out of your own ignorance.

stop what you are doing.
go LEARN about the theory
then come back

stop embarassing yourself.
