I go to the same nail place every two weeks. I was just wondering what is standard etiquette in tipping. I get manicure and pedicure for $30.00. Its the same lady who does both. What would you tip her? Thanks.

I myself go to the same place every two weeks......for just a fill and color I tip $5.00. If I get a hand painted design then I tip $7.00. I don't usually get the same person because I never know when I have the 45 minutes to go in to get them done. Now if someone did my nails and were rude, and did a messy job------no tip.

I'm asking my wife here and she says that the minimum is 10%, but that is really optional and up to you. She used to pay 25 for both in Miami, and she always tipped her 5 (because she did a good job and it was always the same girl), but if she does a regular job, 3 dollars would be just fine. If you ask me, 3 is fine.

It ultimately comes down to your experience at the salon. If you keep going back to the same lady because you like her and her work instead of because she is the only available person then you can feel free to tip her a little more.

If she does good work and you like it I would say then you can give her up to $10 but never less than $5.

I would tip her 5 bucks or more. About 15 to 20% is appropriate.

usually I just round up and say keep the change, like my 8 dollar brow wax I pay ten. but for 30$ I would usually pay about $5( except when I am broke and cant afford to tip at all...being poor sucks..lmao)

I always tip at least 15%. So for you that would come up $4.50, I would round that up to $5.

For stylists and such, standard is 20%, not 15%. So, you'd tip her $6.

I don't because as far as I understand they get that money & then they have to pay for rent & supplies. Same as I do not pay my hairdresser a tip because he owns the place.
