Could that be what is famously referred to as "a dsitinction without a difference"?
Or, maybe the difference is that you shun the commonly accepted expressions of spirituality. I suggest joining a cult. They're different, they're fun, and they have kick-*** Kool-aid parties. Here are some pointers:
If you like flowers, the Moonies are good. You get to sell them on the roadside.
If you like (really like) little girls, you can become a fundamentalist Mormon.
If you like guns and fire, I hear there are openings down in Waco.
If you like pretending that you're some character from AD&D, Wicca's a good way to go. They have all the corny New Agey catchphrases too, and plenty of catalogs full of pricey junk like healing crystals and cheap tin knives.
Good luck, and hope this helps!

Here are some suggestions: 1. Do one kind thing for someone everyday without any expectation of getting anything in return. Your life will become immeasurably blessed because "as you sow, so shall you reap". 2. Be grateful for the life that you do have. Gratitude opens the heart. (God is Love). 3. Daily spiritual practice is essential. Perhaps meditation or prayer? If you begin the search in earnest something will call to you and will look or feel right .... When we know in the deepest part of ourselves that we are immeasurably loved for who we are, with all our flaws, life because rich and sweet and no problem is insurmountable.

My way is at the UNITARIAN Church locally.
Btw, u dont have to be chrisitian or anything there.
We have all kinds of faiths & people there...
In fact locally we probably are the best representative church of peoples with different faiths.
Unitarianism is about the search for truth that we each defined differently... Or at least the best stmt about it.
I for one believe the bible to be a guide, and believe in a nontraditional way (basically nonbiblical)...
I have only one negative and that is I do not allow NIV version in my home and will not discuss its lack of value and inaccurancies.

There are alot of us who prefer spiritual rather than religious for all sorts of reasons. The tradional "religion" just doesn't do it for us all. Read on spiritualism and explore all the wonderful ideas come your way. You will find what works best. Even Wayne Dyer, famous author has gone thru some changes..he appears alot more spiritual than back in the day and his writings reflect that.

Watch "What the bleep do we know?" It'll shed some light on things. Research other religions. I think you know that God is reaching out to you but you need to find the doctrine that suits your needs. It's like with people - there are some people you get along with and some that don't agree with you. God has so many voices in so many doctrines. Find the one which speaks to you in the clearest voice.

I don't believe in religion, either, but I have strong doubts about the bible, after reading about its history.
I would suggest that you follow the teachings in the bible, but not take it literally. Try out different preachers and churches, to hear the different points of view, and read books about others' lives who are also searching for enlightenment.
I wish you well.

Its not about what you "choose" to believe. Anyone can pick and choose the parts they like. Im trying to help you. Study the Bible as it is, learn the origin of it. Get the truth, not bits and pieces. Contrary to what you will constantly hear, their is only one truth, one way of believing. The world and political correctness will tell you otherwise. Remember, One way, one truth. Peace.

yes, just a suggestion look at the bible as more than a book, put your heart and soul into and it will be revealed to you and the scriptures will come alive before you,and you can say without a shadow of doubt that surely The God of Israel reigns supreme

Check into Buddhism. It ultimately didn't work out for me, but I took the 9-fold path to heart.
You may find what you're looking for there.
A good place to start is with the Idiot's Guide to or Buddhism for Dummies.

I do believe you might be on your way to becoming an atheist. Rejoice in your own strength and love, and the strength and love of those around you. Live for yourself and the people who need you, not for some fairytale who promises mansions in exchange for fear.
