I think 16 is the right age to start dating. I had my first kiss at 17, after I had a little experience dating. Just don't take your dating too seriously at first. You'll have plenty of time for that later. Go out in groups and have a good time. Don't kiss someone just to kiss them. Wait untill you find someone that you really like. Make your kisses mean something instead of just being a tool to get guys to like you.

my sister~ I encourage you to date "in groups" to start out. It relieves some of the pressure that being with a boy alone has. I applaud your willingness to wait for this 'first kiss'. Physical intimacy is something that adults 3x your age have difficulty dealing with because emotions get involved and it makes things complex. I would encourage you to wait till you find someone whom you feel comfortable opening up to (emotionally) and who makes you feel comfortable to share those emotions with (and him with you). I pray God be with your every thought and step...
God bless you and keep you...
