Nervousness is natural.
You are about to go on stage. But you will have done your training and you will have some ideas for what to do. If the children are that young, remember that they will be pretty terrified themselves!
Give them a safe place to explore who they are. Remember too that at this age they are a looooong way from being fully realised. The human brain is not complete until the individual is about 14 or 15 years old. So at 2 or 3 they will have poor co-ordination, very little experience of the world and poor language skills. You are the adult, so it is up to you to provide the stories and the links between things for them. And to create that safe space.
Breathe, remember to breathe.
Introduce yourself.
Set some really simple boundaries as to what is acceptable and what is not (often something parents fail dismally to do).
Be consistent.
Leave your own live at the door, but use it to tell tales or create learning experiences.
Don't forget to breathe.
Play some games.
Tell them some stories.
Give them space to play 'free-form'.
Get hold of some big picture books and read to them, showing them the pictures.
Remember that they have short attention spans.
If you enjoy what you do, that will communicate to your students and they will enjoy it too.
Good luck.

I remember my first teaching job. I too was petrified. Just relax and take it a day at a time. It does seem very overwhelming when you start, but if you take it a step at a time, it will be okay. Other experienced teacher are always happy to help new teachers. Don't be afraid to ask for help and remember that your teaching qualification allows you to teach but you will learn everything you need to know once to actually start teaching.
Good Luck. You will love it. The rewards are great.

teaching 2-3 year olds? You don't 'teach' 2-3 year olds unless you are hot housing them. Think about it as providing opportunities for their play. After all piaget said 'play is the work of the child'. Oh and by the way 2-3 year olds are great fun, just smile and listen to them and they'll love you, its the parents that are the trouble!!

That's the best age group to work with! There's nothing to it. It's not like teaching them but more modeling to and for them in everything you do. It's showing them manners, and how to sit at a table and eat with a fork or spoon. Things like that. It's singing the abc song at the top of your lungs with them and showing them their shapes and it's very fun. I hope you enjoy yourself! Good Luck!

you talk to them as if you hold a crystal vase or something so forsome kids if you discipline them by taking time out they will cr to get attention..so.. give them a warning if they still didn't listen tell their parents and let them handle the situation of not listening. it'll be easy..

if you can sing, play guitar or a tambourine, recite songs or nursery rhymes (even froma book) that always keeps them enthralled! I went along to a play and sing type thing for pre nursery kids with my guitar once and they loved it! we just did 'london bridge' and 'yellow submarine' and all those. Class.
